Elejah (One Shot)

This Is Our Last Chance

A/N: I am very sad to say I do not own The Vampire Diaries or The Originals. But I hope you enjoy my silly little fic. :)

Elena felt bad, she had linked Elijah with his siblings then daggered Rebekah leaving four of the five siblings immobilized, and Damon was going to Kill Klaus tonight. She didn't want Elijah to die. She was in denial about the bad things he has done, she swore him to be a good man because that is the illusion she created for him. After all he did try to save her life after his brother came to claim it, only good men save the damsel in distress right?
Though the reason Elena wanted to spare Elijah wasn't because he was a good man, it was because she was secretly in love with him. Secretly meaning it was a secret from him and his family. The first ones to call her out on her feelings happened to be Alaric and Jeremy. Once Elena's secret was out everyone agreed that if Elena had to fall for an original at least it was the Nobelist. But even though everyone figured out she was in love with Elijah she still denied it, even to herself.
'It is not true love if it isn't returned.' Elena told herself whenever she stopped to think of the Scary original with nice hair.

Elena left the the hospital and began walking to her car. She waved goodbye to Matt who drove off in his pickup truck leaving her all alone in the parking lot. She began to back up until she hit something, panicked she threw her car in park and jumped out to see what it was, she was terribly confused when nothing was there. She shook her had and headed back to her car. That's when she was slammed into the side of her car by Rebekah.

"Drive much?" Rebekah spat venomously.
"Rebekah!" Elena shouted in fear. How did this happen? She was daggered! Unless... Oh no.. They failed to kill Klaus.
"Surprised? You drove a dagger through my back Elena, it hurt." Rebekah said, her face inches from Elena's. Rebekah's faced morphed and she instantly went to bite Elena's neck, Elena braced for the worst but it never came.

In a matter of seconds a whooshing sound came and Rebekah was pinned to the car as Elena was seconds ago. 

"Elijah." Rebekah breathed out annoyed.
"Leave." Elijah sad firmly. Releasing the grip around his little sisters throat. Rebekah stood up straight head held high watching Elijah.
"Are you challenging me?" He asked in the same firm voice as before.
"You're pathetic. Both of you." Rebekah spat before speeding away. Elijah turned to face Elena with a smirk on his face.
"Well, I believe we have a little catching up to do." Elijah said. Elena's heart raced. After all the events that happened that night she believed he wanted to do the honor of killing her. 

Elena just nodded her head. Elijah walked to Elena's car and got in the drivers side. Elena didn't question him though, she just walked to the passenger seat quietly. The drive was quiet, he had drove them to the forest near the execution ground where the witches had been killed. He got out and she followed. 

"Elijah, I'm sorry." The words flew from Elena's mouth.
"Ha. You're sorry? Elena you linked me to my siblings then daggered Rebekah, then you planned to kill my brother and you're sorry?" Elijah stated.

"I was forced into the plan Elijah, I wish I could have put up more of a fight to save you because you don't deserve to die but Stefan wanted Klaus dead and when Ester said she could help with that I never thought she was going to kill her whole family. So when I say I'm sorry I actually mean it because I never wanted this, I was forced into the plan. You know they threatened to take Jeremy and Alaric from me. They're all I have so if it comes down to you or the only family I have left I'm going to side with my own. I'm only human, going up against a witch and four vampires, it's not easy." Elena started to shout, tears threatened to spill from her eyes. "That's why Alaric is in the hospital right now. Because I tried to save you." Elena whispered so low it was almost inaudible. Her heart never skipped a beat, and he knew her words were truthful.
