I have lived here for thirteen years. I am eighteen. At least from what I can remember. I have lived through 13 winters and I know I came here when I was five. But that was when my parents were still here. I have been in the Island of the Beautiful alone for four years. I am not alone though. I have the few animals on the island. And my dreams. Sometimes, as I walk on the beach at sunset I dream of a wonderfully decorated ship coming towards the island. A tall and handsome Knight gets off and comes to me as I stand in the warm sand. My feet are bare and a white silk dress adorns me. The knight turns the island into our own kingdom and we fall madly in love and live in the Island of the Beautiful. Forever.
Living on the Island is not awful. Only awfully lonely. I am sustained by the native crops and fish and animals. My parents left me with a nice cabin they made and the well and garden. I use my father's bow and arrows and my mother's sword. My father's sword is too heavy for me. But I do keep myself busy hunting and repairing things, and dreaming..
This brings you up to today. I sit in the beach watching the sunset like I do every evening. And I dream. My dream is suddenly cut short by a sudden shape, a luming and moving shadow. The great mass is not huge, but is big. A ship. From the journals and drawings I have from Father I know that the flag is from a far and distant country, Narnia.
I watch as two small boats are lowered. They plan on coming ashore. I run into the trees and watch silently as the two boats row nearer and nearer. I don't know anything about Narnia except about the Golden Age. And all I know of that is that was when Aslan was still friendly with the country. Then the royalty vanished mysteriously. So, I don't know if they are friendly or not.
The first boat comes up and there are nine people aboard. They climb out. The second boat arrives shortly after, five people are aboard, plus a large talking mouse, one of the tell tale signs if Narnians. Talking animals.
"Well, it looks inhabited," says a young man from the first boat. He has short, dark hair. He looks around the beach.
"What do you think we'll find?" Asks a young girl, also from the first boat, she looks to be younger than the first man.
"Wait, look! I don't think this island is uninhabited," another young man asks. This one is taller than the first two people and older.
He crouches down to look at something in the sand. A tall man with shoulder length, black hair and tan skin crouches next to him. They both stand and the first man has something in his hands. I search myself. I have dropped my necklace. My father owned a ring. A very ornate ring. He gave it to me so put it on a chain and created a necklace of it.
"That is the seal of Lord Revilian," says the third man as they gawk at my necklace.
I shift my weight uncomfortably. And unfortunately shift a branch as well. A loud snap of the dry twig echoes down the beach. The uninvited guests all become alert and look around them.
"Come forth, your king commands you," he demands.
Slowly and carefully, with my blade drawn, I emerge from the trees.
"Who are you and why are you invading my island and claiming it as yours?" I question as I approach them defensively..
"I am King Caspian the tenth," answers the man who demanded my presence.
"I am High King Peter," the man who found my necklace introduces himself.
He is about a head taller than I, he has dirty blonde hair and sharp blue eyes. He holds my chain in his right hand, his left rests on his sword hilt.
"I am King Edmund," says the youngest man, the first of them to to get out of the boat.
" I am Queen Susan," says a young woman only just younger than King Caspian and Peter.
