In the time before time, on the mysterious island of Mata Nui, six canisters washed ashore on a golden beach carrying new and powerful mechanical Hero's each with their own elemental power.

There's Tahu, the courageous guardian of fire, Lewa, the agile guardian of air, Gali, the noble Guardian of water, Kopaka, the powerful guardian of ice, Onewa, the wise guardian of earth, and finally, Pohatu, the mighty guardian of stone.

Together, these six hero's (Toa's) battle the darkness of makuta (the lord shadows) and the evil shadows he unleashed. Bringing fear and doom to Mata Nui.

After years of fighting the toa defeated makuta with help from the legendary Guardian of life, Mata Nui. And the Toa had finally won.
