I stared at her, saying nothing. "Well, it's you know, a bit obvious.", she said, dabbing at her wound. "I see how you stare at my blood...", I immediately became very interested in a small crack stretching across the ceiling of the small hut. "And I...I kind of study vampires...", she trailed off again, and motioned for me to come towards her. She opened a small drawer in a thin desk, revealing lots of old, yellowed papers with writing and drawings on them. "I hope to publish it some day, but now...", she looked somewhere over my head longingly, imagining her book famous and published. Before getting a chance to look at the papers more closely, she blurted, "Drink.", I stared at her. Thinking, if I drink from her I'm a monster. I'm a monster... I shook my head vigorously. "Come on. You know you want to." ,she coaxed. No. I couldn't..I thought. "Just do it. It is not that terrible.",she said. I slowly got closer to her arm, when the door opened. Samantha entered, with leeches in a tray. I listened as the try clattered loudly onto the dirt floor, and saw the look of horror on her face.
