A Shirayuki & Obi One-Shot

Thank You

Obi read the disbelief on her face and pure fear in her beautiful green eyes.

"You have to leave Young Miss before they come back!"

Those words must've struck her hard, it was as if she were losing something valuable.

How was he valuable to her though?
Zen was her lover and best friend, not him.

He wondered if a situation like this has ever crossed her mind, it must've. Not every mission was going to be easy and safe, sacrifices had to be made and it was either Shirayuki getting killed or himself.

Obi would have never forgiven himself, if he let Shirayuki get killed and he knew his master wouldn't either.

"But Ob-" Obi expected her to be stubborn, but he had hoped she would just listen. He never wanted to say these words, but he had to protect her.

"Leave now! You won't be able to help anyways! Just leave!" Those words echoed in her head and she then realized, Obi wasn't kidding.

He was seriously injured and he was still trying to save her.

She stood up and held back her tears, running towards the door.

"Goodbye Young Miss." Obi whispered watching the red haired girl run away from the danger.

As the door shut, Obi struggled to sit up against the wall, the shattered window reflected off of the moon's rays and Obi felt his vision blur.

A cold chuckled came from the balcony and Obi felt his breath hitch.

"Ah it seems the great Assassin Obi has finally taken a death blow." She laughed and skipped over, her pale blonde hair trailing behind her. "And all for a girl, I didn't want it to come to this Obi-kun." She pouted stoking his cheek.

"But it seems you're girl has just left you here to die, don't worry I'll make this painless-" the door slammed open and Obi felt his slow heart skip a beat.

Shirayuki stood beside an angered Zen, his two friends beside him.

"Leave him alone!" The girl grinned and vanished in a blink of an eye leaving the abandoned room.

"Obi!" Shirayuki ran over and kneeled beside him, Obi knew the blow would cause pain to them, because even though Shirayuki was a magnificent healer.

Not all things can be saved.

"Thank...you..."! He whispered before taking his last breath leaving behind a crying Shirayiku and a upset Zen.
