Sonamy boom One-shot

  The sun was just rising as a blue hedgehog sat at the kitchen table waiting for the others to wake up. 

He hadn't slept much as his mind was still a whirl from the mission before. 

Dr Eggman decided it was a good idea to let all his robots go on a rampage. Obviously it was one of his idiot lackeys (Cubot Sonic guessed) that set them amok. It was quite a task to stop them from terrorising the civilians. Sonic smiled to himself, he couldn't help but love the danger that Eggman always managed to have stored up his sleeve; it would be a boring world otherwise.

Sonic began tightening his bandanna and reapplying his sports tape to his arms and hands in preparation of today's events. He knew something was going to happen; there was never a quiet moment where he lived even on slow days. The first to enter the room was a yellow two tailed fox: 

Tails. His real name was Miles Prower but he preferred not being called that name. This was Sonic's best buddy; he was like the little kid brother he never had. He was snapping his goggles on his head as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

"Oh good morning Sonic," Tails said surprised to see Sonic wide awake at this hour.

"Hi Tails! Sleep well?"

"More or less... I assume you didn't sleep last night?" Tails replied sarcastically. Sonic put a hand behind his head looking away. He didn't want to admit to Tails but he had a lot on his mind last night...

"Ah it's fine... Where is everyone else?" Sonic abruptly changed the subject so Tails wouldn't ask any further questions.

"Knuckles is working out... Amy should be coming soon and Sticks... well Sticks is being Sticks," Tails replied. Tails walked over to the kitchen to make himself breakfast, "You want anything?" He asked out of kindness.

"um... no thanks..." Sonic said. He didn't feel right at all this morning. He had a terrible night and his stomach was now doing corkscrews. What was wrong with him?

He broke out of his worried thought when a knock from Tails' front door could be heard. Sonic went to answer knowing exactly who it was. He leaned against the frame of the door and answered it.

"Yes can I help you?" he said cockily. A pink hedgehog stood on the other side not looking pleased with her hands on her hips.

"Very funny Sonic. Move out of my way," she shoved him aside as he began laughing at her.

"Why are you in such a good mood?" Amy looked at a still laughing Sonic. She smiled liking this humorous behaviour of his. Knuckles bounded in to see what the commotion was about. Knuckles was the tallest in the group and the biggest.

"What's going on?! Has the pizza arrived yet?!"

"Knuckles... its morning," Sonic had stopped laughing now and looked at Knuckles with a raised brow.

"So? I like my pizza in the mornings as well as at night," the red echidna huffed.

"Whatever Knucklehead..." Sonic sighed. It wasn't his best choice of words as Knuckles slapped Sonic in the back hard, this earned Sonic almost being knocked off his feet. In a panic he flailed his arms 

about to regain his balance but was assisted by Amy. She had grabbed one of his wild arms to set him right. He looked at her in confusion and quickly thrust his arm away from hers looking away in embarrassment. He quietly said thanks still not looking her way, he felt his cheeks burn. Great, saved by a girl... he thought to himself.

"Ok guys! Glad you're all here as I have devised a plan for us!" Tails said to break the awkward silence.

"Uh... who's the leader?" Sonic rhetorically asked.

"I know exactly who the "leader" is but you're not the one with the plan, I am," Tails retorted looking at Sonic in an unamused manner.

"Fine whatever! Go ahead with your lame plan..." Sonic sat on the arm of the couch next to him, pouting and crossing his arms.

"Anyway... I managed to find a Crystal shard near the town and forest. However, we need to split up if we're to enhance our chances in finding it."

"Heh looks like it will be me and you Tails-"

"Not today Sonic... Knuckles and I will be mingling with the local townspeople to find that Crystal shard, whilst you and Amy venture to the forest."

"WHAT?!" Sonic almost fell off the seat he was perched on.

"Um Tails. I'm the fastest creature alive! You expect me to go with slow here? Come on are you TRYING to cramp my style?"

"Oh and I'm quick too right?" Tails was not happy with Sonic's outcome.

"Yeah but-"

"Gee thanks for your rudeness Sonic. We already established last training session that I can keep up with you no problem!" Amy grabs Sonic's bandanna with intimidation settling in her glowing emerald eyes. Sonic gulped a little frightened at what the hammer happy girl would do to him.

"Here!" Tails throws a communicator at Amy who catches with skill, still holding onto Sonic's bandanna.

"Thanks Tails, Sonic and I will be fine," Amy looks back at Sonic evilly; she then drags Sonic out with her heading towards the forest. She flings him and he almost crashes into a tree.

"Ah Amy!" Sonic shouts, regaining his balance again. She did not look pleased with him.

"L-look, what I said earlier-"

"Save it Sonic, we have a mission to complete!"

"B-but Amy... I didn't mean..." he felt bad, he was only trying to keep a hold of his manhood. He didn't want to upset Amy but it seemed too late. She ignored him the whole time they walked deeply in the forest. She was angry with him, he could tell as he tried to break the ice with casual conversation, but Amy made it awkward.

She came to a stop where Sonic almost walked into her not looking where he was going. His mind was elsewhere.

"Wow! Sonic there's the Crystal! That was an easier task than I thought," Amy was pointing up to a large blue, roughly edged gem stone that glowed in the branches of the trees it was hanging from.

"Wait Amy; be cautious, it seems too easy to get a hold of..." Sonic grabbed her arm with a worried look on his face. This was odd behaviour for Sonic to be weary; he'd be one of the first to jump in with
