Wednesday couldn't have come faster than it did. The rest of Sunday the 27th was spent packing and repacking my three suitcases for tour. Monday(28th) was spent putting the little furniture I owned into storage or giving it to my cousins that lived here in Georgia. They'd always complimented me on the living room set and hell I wasn't gonna need it for a whole year why not give it to someone that was gonna put it to good use. I was also getting congratulatory calls from family & friends all day long. The longest calls were with my parents, sister, and Aunt on my mothers side. Gosh she was so proud of me, had me crying on the phone. She has so much love for me, my talk with her made this whole experience so real. It made me realize I was really pursuing my dreams, things were really happening.
"My goodness, Nicole," she liked calling my by my middle name.
"Yeah I know, it's finally happening," I agreed on my end.
"As I knew it would, just faster than I thought, I mean you just got out of college and now you're on a concert tour," she sounded amazed.
"It still feels like a dream to me," I mumbled bathing in the moment. I looked at the living room as I walked through it for the third time while on the phone with her. "I mean sure my living room is empty but I still can't believe I won't be living here anymore," I spoke with it all hitting me in the face, again, reality.
"We'll believe it, it is happening, and you deserve it. You've worked hard and it's all falling into place. Keep that effort up and more dreams will come true.
"Now what's this Lacey and Leo told me about a crazy contract?" She inquired.
"What are you doing talking to my friends? How did you get in contact with them?" I asked completely baffled.
"Calm down, last time you came to New Orleans, with them we talked a while and you feel asleep, 'cuz you could never hang, and I wanted to keep a closer eye on you so I asked them to and they gave me their numbers, I didn't have to ask for them. You have good friends.
"Dance team, sorority life and those jobs of yours were taking up a lot of your time, so when I couldn't reach you Lacey told me how you were doing, with lots of detail at that. In fact I've told Lacey on several occasions that she should be a reporter or an inspirational speaker but she told me she was in school to be a intermediate school teacher, which I guess is the same thing," she went on and that made me realize I shouldn't be surprised by her actions.
"Lacey has told me on several occasional that you were awesome but I thought she just meant about the conversation y'all had when I was asleep. Wow, I love you auntie," I said smiling teary eyed into the phone.
"And I love you too, Nicole. Hopefully I'll talk to you before you tour and I get better details about this contract. Now I suggest you get some sleep but you're grown," she joked.
I looked at the clock, two in the morning, "oh yes, sleep sounds good, though I'm not that sleepy," I admitted. "You will certainly get a call before we start touring, I love you good night auntie."
"Love you too, good night Nic."
