Focusing on the lesson in class was more difficult then usual. Second by second, each one more painful than the last. Currently listening to Mrs. Jane talking about the human body structure was not up my alley. I couldn't wait till art. I plan to major in art. Getting out of Mrs. Jane's class wasn't the only reason I wanted to go to art, It was because I needed something to get my mind off Brian. Art was like smoking. Whenever I was there or drawing something or just thinking about different types of art, it felt like I was smoking all of my problems away. Just like a cigarette, each problem of course coming back to do damage later.
"Excuse me."
I was disturbed from my thinking when I looked over to see this girl. The girl looked like she was waiting to sit down.
"Oh, sorry." I said. My leg had been on top of the chair, blocking her way from being able to sit on it.
"Sorry again. My Names Carly and you?" I said trying to be polite.
I had never seen this girl around school before. She was really hot. Everything about her was appealing. Her dark brown hair really brings out her eyes I thought to myself.
"It's Fine." She said.
She said her name was Layla and that she just moved here from Florida. We started to talk even more through out class. We weren't even listening to what Mrs. Jane was talking about anymore. I'd say in those last thirty minute I really liked talking to Layla. She told me about her and I told her about myself. She was really funny and a light spirited person.
The bell had rang signally that class was over. I watched as Layla began to gather her things. I noticed a mark on her right arm. It actually went around her whole arm. It was a dark colour.
"Hey, where do you sit at lunch? I was wondering if I could join and maybe meet your friends." Layla said to me.
I think she noticed that I was staring at the mark on her arm which made her ask me that question.
"Umm... sure." I was trying to play it off hoping she wouldn't notice but I'm pretty sure that she did.
I finished gathering all my things and began to walk towards the door. Once I got out the door I saw my best friend waiting there, patiently at my locker. That's one person I could always count on to be there. I waved to him, signalling that I knew that he was there.
"Hey jerk why weren't you here first and second period?" My best friend Thomas said.
I looked back at Layla then at Thomas.
"This is Layla. Layla this is Thomas." I said avoiding his question.
I watched as they just gave each other looks. I already knew what Thomas was thinking. He was either thinking about how she's so hot or waiting for her to leave so he could get her number from me. He wouldn't ask her up front. Not because he's shy or anything, it's because he wants to go show off and brag about it to his friends before she finds out and rejects him in front of his little jock friends. I could be wrong though. Layla could end up liking him and her just as much as he does him.
"Lettttsss go!" Thomas said.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Thomas yelling in my ear and most of the hall being cleared up and everyone heading to lunch.
"Sorry!" I said rolling my eyes at Thomas. Layla just laughs and begins to follow Thomas.
