Rydel's POV:
My call with Belle ended about 15 minutes ago. She had to go eat or something so sadly we ended our conversation. We had talked about how she was coming to visit during the upcoming spring break and i was excited. we also talked about what i could possibly do here to entertain myself seeing i had not yet met anyone i could talk to. i knew i started school tomorrow and i had already been lectured on being kind to people and making a good impression by Belle.
Sitting there in the bean bag chair i noticed a boy coming out from the house across the street. He was wearing dark wash low rise jeans and a white shirt. His hair was dirty blonde and in one of those messy looks that you just want to run your hand through. He was also carrying a pan.
I watched him as he walked up to our doorstep and rang the bell. 3, 2, 1, i counted down. "Rydel could you get that please? I will be there in a second," my mom shouted. I huffed as i got up from the comfy chair and walked back inside. Retracing my steps i found my way back to the grand staircase and made my way down. Walking up to the front door i stood on my tiptoes and looked out the peep hole. Yep, it was him.
I took in a breath and opened the door. "Hi my name is Archer Winder and I'm your- Hello there," he cut him self off and leaned against the doorway a smirk plastered on his face. "And just what might your name be?" He asked scanning me up and down eyes landing on the writing on my shirt. "Im Rydel, but my friends call me Ry," i said with a sigh not liking the smirk on his face or his attitude.
"Mmm hot name for a hot girl Ry," he said grinning and giving me a wink. "I said only my friends call me Ry." Now it was my turn to smirk as the grin fell off his face. "Well we just might have to change that won't we?" he asked the smirk returning as he leaned in closer, his breath fanning over my face. "How bout no?" I replied in a bored tone backing up a step and crossing my arms over my chest.
"No one can resist babe, I'm practically a god." He whispered the last part and i shivered. Re composing myself, i straightened up. "Maybe i might be the one exception babe," i spat the last part and watched his face. Raising an eyebrow he chuckled. "Your a challange, but i like challenges," he grinned. "Then game on pretty boy," i said giving him a dirty look.
I took the time during our little stare down to look at his facial features. He had smokey grey eyes that darked when i told him game on. His lips were a pinkish color and i bit mine out of habit when he caught me looking. "Well thats a turn on," he grunted, his eyes darting down to my lips and then back to mine.
"Rydel, who was at the door?" my mother said as she rounded the corner. I backed away from Archer quickly noticing how close we had gotten to each other. "Oh hello there," she smiled and said as she noticed Archer standing there. "And you are?" "My name is Archer," he said flashing her a smile and holding out his hand. "Nice to meet you mrs?" He questioned. "Williams, Rachel Williams," my mom said shaking his hand. "and i see you've already met my daughter Rydel," she added.
"Well Mrs. Williams, these are for your family from mine. Im sorry my dad and mom cant make it they are out for work but my mother should be back by tonight." He said handing the brownies to my mom. "Oh thank you dear! You and your mother should come over for dinner tonight," she cooed at Archer. "Im sure she would love that," he replied directing a smirk at me.
I shook my head and rolled my eyes looking back at my mom. "Okay thats great see you at 6:30?" My mom asked. "Sounds perfect," he smiled. "See you later mrs. Williams, Rydel," he said as he rolled my name off his tongue. "Bye dear," my mom said as she shut the door.
"Well he seems like a nice boy," she said to me walking back into the kitchen. "Yeah he's swell," i replied, walking back up the stairs. I couldn't get the color of his eyes out of my head the were so grey. Stop it i told myself. Archer Winder seemed like a boy who seemed to get his way, but i always win.
