Age: 19

Warning: Au no magic excpet for the ink and soulmates.

Just sometimes you meet someone who leaves an undeniable mark on your soul.

I subconciously rub the black ink on my neck as I read the quote in my book.

The black ink isn't a tatoo though it sort of looks like it. The mark is my initals. It sits between my necks and my shoulder. Everyone has one. It's the mark of soulmates. When you find yours another appears on your skin. Right next to yours. Their initals.

The average age to find your soulmate is late twentys to early thirties. We tend not to date since we know it won't work out, were just not meant to be. Save yourself a heartbreak.

Sighing I close my book and pulling up my collar to cover the ink I head down to grannies for my shift.

When I get there I smile at Ruby as she passes me her apron and tray. I collect my name tag from the dish in the back, stabbing myslef sevrely times in the process.

I pin it into my shirt, plaster a smile on my face and grab my note book. Just then a family walks in. The parents and another couple I assume and a boy around my age.

'Hi welcome to grannies diner. Here are your menus, my names y/n I'll be your server this afternoon do you want any drinks?'

'Hot cocoa' the boy says 'with cinnamon.'

I write it down along with the rest of their orders. Once in the back I feel a slight tingle on my neck. I scratch it and it seems to go away. I hurry making there drinks. Then I place them carefully in the rest and make my way over to there table. I smike as I set down their drinks and ask if there ready to order.

When there not I go over to another table that's saving me over. I take the order and place it in the order rack for Granny. Again there's a tingle at my neck I just pull up my shirt again. With nothing else to do I begin wiping down tables until granny calls out that the orders ready I take the three plates and balance them on my arms taking them over to the table.

Cocoa boy waved me over, talking out my notepad I ask

'Are you ready to order?'

They end up getting two grilled cheese, a hamburger, a salad and a steak. Again a tickle at the base of my neck. I away it with my pencil as I place the order on the order rack. As I go back to wiping tables I notice cocoa boy pull up the sleeve of his shirt on his left hand and gasp running his thumb over it. I feel something on the base of my neck giving in I pull my shit down so its visable. I gasp. Initals.

H.M

I look over at the boy and find him already looking at me just then granny calls their order. I stumble over as pick up four out of five plates. I place them down in front of them and hurry back for the last one. I place it down in front of the boy.

'H.M?' I whisper. He nodds. 'We'll talk later' I scribble my number down quickly placing I on his plate. As I leave I feel my stomach tumble in excitment. I look over my shoulder at the boy.

My soulmate

When I go over to take their plates he whispers

'Henry Mills' I say nothing just flash a smile at him and walk away. After they leave I don't have to wait long for a text.

When do you get off?

5.30 I answer. And even though it's only two hours it suddenly seems like a lifetime.
