Tale of the Unfit Dragon

Once upon a time, deep in thd Lagoon if Flame, there lived a dragon that didn't know how to blow fire. He tried and tried and tried his very best but to no avail.

He tried everything he could ever think of; he focused his mind on making fire, he mimicked what three other dragons did and he even drank gasoline to help him make fire. However, he never succeeded and the other dragons refused to befriend him because he is not 'one of them'.

One fine day, came a traveller yo the lagoon and he claimed himself to be the master of the fire element. Upon knowing about the traveller, the dragon immediately came to meet him and asked for his help to solve his problem.

The traveller said that he could help but the dragon must first prove that he is a real dragon. He asked the dragon to give him 100 pieces of his scales, another 100 pieces of the small but sharp thorn that the dragon had on his back and also as if that that were not enough, the traveller asked the dragon to give him his big mighty wings.

Without any doubt, the naive and desperate dragon shed his own skin and plucked 100 pieces of his own scales off his body. He was screaming in pain but he continued to cut another 100 pieces of the thorn on his back. The dragon also cut his own big wings to give to the traveller.

He was in so much pain and bled so much blood but he continued because he wanted to fit in with the other dragons so badly. When he was done, he looked really terrible and very weird, nothing like a dragon at all. He then gave the traveller what he wanted and the traveller granted his wish and gave him the ability to blow fire.

The dragon was really happy that he can now blow fire just like the other dragons. He then ran towards his colony because he can no longer fly and showed them his new ability. However, the other dragons were really shocked to see such a weird looking creature that can blow fire. They then casted the dragon away from the Lagoon of Flame. The dragon was again rejected to be part of the colony and he was left behind.

Devastated, the dragon then died from over bleeding because of the severe cuts on his body, still alone and unaccepted.
