That is 10 days in a row now that she has entered my cafe. She orders the same thing each time. "Can I get a large coffee black with a blueberry muffin please". She would say. Her voice was as soft as her lips looked. I couldn't keep my eyes off of them. She had wavy shoulder length hair that was tucked behind one ear.
She would always sit at the table to my far left closest to the window. There wasn't much of a view there, just a department store across the street that didn't get much business but for some reason she enjoyed that spot.
I watched from a distance as she sipped her coffee. She always held her mug with both hands as she drank. Her nails we're always manicured and I noticed a gold band on the thumb of her right hand. That was the only jewelry that she wore, no necklace or even earrings. Some might call her a plane Jane but I liked it. She gazed out the window as she sipped her coffee. Even as she lowered her cup, she never took her eyes off that window. I wonder what she was thinking about. She never had a computer or book with her, just her cell phone.
