I sighed as I breathed in the salt air. "You look happy up there." Someone said from under me, I look down. It was Josh. "Yea, its perfect today." I say going back to relaxing. "Sure it is. But it's like this every day." He says starting to climb up next to me. I was visiting my family in California. Josh was my friend in California, well mostly a family friend but still. "So you know it's not like this in New York." I say putting my sunglasses on. "What are you going to do while you're here Jess?" He asks lying beside me. "Most likely going to work on my outfits for the fashion show that's happing in four months after school starts up again. Or talk to Jake." I say looking over at him. "J-Jess." He says. "Yes what is it Josh?" I say lifting my sunglasses. "I was wondering if you would mind if I could go back to New York with you?" He says looking me in the eyes knowing it's my weakness. If someone has pity in their eyes I will do anything for them if there staring me in the eyes. "Yes! That would be great! I would get to see you every day and we could give you a couple classes I have." Jess says already thinking of how to help him dress for the first day he goes to college with her. "Hey I have a great idea! How about you make me a outfit for my first day. I mean I did get accepted at your college but I just never choose to go to college yet. Since you know what happened." He says starting to tear up. His Parents died the last time I was down here. They were on their way to the restaurant that we all decided to go to for our last day here. But it started raining really hard. We made it their with Josh because he came with us. Then my Mom was on the phone with his Mom. And my Mom burst into tears screaming at us to hurry up and get in the car. When we got to them we rushed over to them. They had lost a lot of blood. My father is a doctor so he called a ambulance to come pick them up and we had to go to the hospital. They didn't make it. Josh cried for months. We decided to stay down here a little longer to help Josh out. Well I practically begged them to let us stay. "yes I will make you cloths for School." I say hugging him. He started crying. "Shhh its okay. There in a better place now." I say patting his head. "I know but I miss them." He says sniffing. "I know, I miss them too. Hey why don't we go to my house and watch some Netflix. I'll let you choose." I say getting up with him. He nods his head. "Would you like us to get some ice cream on the way their?" I ask since I was a little hungry. "Yea I can hear your stomach growling and mine is too." He says smiling. "Hey don't make fun of my tummy." I say grabbing my stuff. I was working on my tan so when I go back to NY I'm not as pale as a ghost. We walked over to the ice cream shop and the door jingled. "Hey guys, haven't seen you in a good while Jess. You still want your normal?" Will asks from behind the bar. "Yea but for to go." I say grabbing a seat at the bar. "What about you Josh same thing?" He asks Josh who is still sniffling. "Yea, but same as her to go." He says sitting next to me. "Are you guys trying to hurt my feelings by saying you don't want to be near me anymore?" Will ask jokingly. "No, where going to her house to watch some Netflix and she most likely will work on her outfits or talk to Jake." He said Jakes name in a girly voice. "So Jake how's he doing? You two still not together?" Will asks me as he scoops my ice cream. "He's doing fine, and me and Jake won't ever get together. He's like a older brother to me." I say sternly. I don't care how many people tell me that I should be with Jake, I don't like him. "don't tell your brother that Jess." Will says playfully . "He might get a little jealous." Will says looking behind me. I sigh "He's behind me isn't he?" I ask and he nods in response. I turn around and I see Hunter standing their looking angry. "well if he's such a good brother why don't you go live with him!" Hunter says crossing his arms over his chest. "That's not what I meant Hunter. I love having you as my big brother but at school you're not there since you're a grown up that has a kid on the way. I can't always depend on you being there. Jake is their all the time. And soon Josh will be too!" I say finally telling someone that Josh is coming to NY with us. Well I guess you could say two. "Really Josh. You want to come to NY with us and go to college with Jake?" Hunter asks with that guy talk face. I swear they have telepathic ways. "I mean I was going to ask someone something anyway but ill do it later. I'll tell you about it at supper." Josh says grabbing our ice cream and taking my arm and pulling me outside. That was weird. "Umm Josh who do you want to ask something to someone?" I ask pulling my arm away. "Oh... umm I kind of wanted to do this later but... Jess will you go on a date with me?" Josh asks blushing a deep crimson red. "Yes id love that." I say taking his hand and entwining our fingers. "Really? How about tomorrow night?" He asks squeezing my hand twice. "That sounds perfect. "I say squeezing twice back. That was our thing where we did that to reinsure each other.
