Chp.1

Cathy's POV

"OPEN UP BITCH!" my father screamed while banning on the door real hard. I was hiding under my bed away from him. My step-dad patrick beaten (still does) the shit out of me all the time when my mother was at work or when she was gone. Over the years it's gotten pretty worse. After my mother died he started beating me daily. He also decided to try a new "thing" I guess.  That "thing" was when he was bored he would touch me in places I didn't want him to touch me in. It was either that or he beats me.
"WHERE ARE YOU LITTLE SLUT?" i heard him yell.  He probably broke the door off again. I could see his nike shoes near the bed. Please please don't look under the bed  I thought to myself.
I thought I heard him leave so I took a breath of relief but it was to soon.] because the next thing I know i'm being pulled out from under my bed. 
He started punching me in my stomach, face, and ribs. Then he pulled out a knife and cut my arm. I screamed in agony. 
The beating was a lot longer and more painful then last time.
When he left I went to the bathroom with a box and locked the door. I opened the box to see my favorite stress reliever since I was 8. I began making it dance across my arm and I decided to cut down ward instead of sideways. I'm already living in hell so i'm ready for the real thing.
The last thing I saw was the blood trickling down my arm and I began to smile...

Ashley's POV

The guys and I were hanging out watching batman and eating pizza when i noticed I had a call from LA hospital.

"Hello?"
"Hello is this Ashley Purdy?" The woman on the phone asked.
"Yes this is he"
"Well Mr.Purdy we have your daughter in the hospital."
"umm...I don't have a daughter..."
"Well yes you do.. Her name is Cathy and she is 16 yrs young."
"well i've never even knew about her.."
"Her mother is Kalee Peterson"

Shit I dated Kalee 16yrs ago... and she left me telling me she found someone else...

"I'm on my way"  I said and hung up.

I explained to the guys and they came along with me.
~SKIPPING CAR RIDE CAUSE IM LAZY~

When we got there I told the front desk what was going on and the lady I spoke with on the phone wanted about Cathy so we headed for her office.

"So about Cathy...she is doing fine for right now but i'm afraid she tried to kill herself."
I just sat there shocked.
"She's very lucky that her friend Taylor called 911 just in time."
I nodded.
"We had cops search her house to make sure everything was fine and we found this letter in the attic addressed to you. Its from her mother."
I grabbed the letter and started to read it.

Dear Ashley,
I'm so sorry that I left you. I wish I can go back in time and restart. The man I left you for for is YOUR daughter's step dad. He forced me to break up with you and so much other stuff. When I left you I realized I was pregnant with YOUR baby.
She's a Beautiful little girl...
She doesn't know you're her dad though.
Even know she had it rough growing up she still smiled that purdy smile.
I'm so sorry I never told you about her but if I did he would have killed me for talking to you.
You're probably wondering how she had it rough.
Well her step dad beat her all the time when I wasn't there. She told me everything and I was scared to do anything because he controlled our lives. I did confront him one day and he said he would kill her if I said anything to anyone.
The abuse got worse and worse. He eventually started to touch her in places. I want a better life for her so bad. So PLEASE ashley will you take care of her and give her a life that I didn't. I love you with all my heart. Thank YOU so much for blessing this world with a fallen angel.

I started to sob. This man had beaten my daughter...
The daughter that doesn't even know that I'm her dad...
Even if I hadn't been there for her or even met her I felt the space in my heart getting torn but also in love.
