It was finally time to go, Merida fixed her stuff then headed to her locker. She punched in the code then dumped all of her books inside. After that she ran to the exit, thinking about what she could do while waiting for Punzie and the others to come by. She decided to just go home and maybe watch Netflix, watch basketball...
'Or maybe just chill at that old abandoned tree house and do some archery' Merida thought with glee. She nodded to herself then walked straight home. Not noticing a boy with messy brown hair, green eyes, wearing a dark green shirt, ants and black sneakers was following her.
Merida waited for the school bus because her bike's front tire was flat and she was too lazy to buy a new one. She was quietly humming a random tune when she felt someone was watching her,she turned her head to look but found no one.
She shrugged. 'Must be it's just my imagination.'
The bus finally came and Merida hopped in. And so is the stranger.
Merida sat at the at the first seat at the right, the one near window, she took out her phone then plugged in her earphones, she scrolled down to her favorite songs until she felt someone sit next to her.
She didn't pay any much attention to the person until...
"It's nice to see you again, Flame."The person said.Merida froze. There's only one person who calls her that.
She slowly looked up and stared into those calm green eyes that reminded her so much of the memories they shared. The guy smiled shyly, he gave her a slight nudge. "So, how's life hmmm? It's been, what? Seven years since I last saw you" he said.
Merida couldn't make out words, she was looking at him with wide eyes like the guy has two heads.
'What's he doing here?! I thought he said that didn't want to see me? Ahh... this must be joke' Merida thought.
She ignored the guy again and continued to scroll on her phone. The guy frowned and thought of an idea to get her attention.
He took her phone making Merida look at him with a scowl.
"What do you want now, Haddock?" Merida asked trying to desperately keep her temper in check.
Hiccup gave her a grin. " Nothing, I just want to talk to my old friend. Is that bad?"
Merida scoffed then smirked.
"Yes, especially when you say something insulting about her family then tell her that you don't want to see her. Oh, and for the record, we are NOT friends" Merida hissed. She snatched her phone then kept it inside her pocket. She ignored him until the bus stopped in front of her house. She stood up and went out of the school bus with Hiccup hot on her trail.
Merida was now on her front porch, she's still ignoring Hiccup. She opened the door but not before facing Hiccup.
"You can go now." Merida grumbled.
"No. I really want to talk to you Mer" Hiccup insisted.
"Well I don't! Just leave me alone, Hic!" Merida yelled. She was about to go inside but Hiccup grabbed her arm and dragged her into the woods behind her house.
Merida was struggling and yelling at him but Hiccup didn't stop.
He stopped under a big tree and forced Merida to sit down.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?!!! I need to go home my-" Merida was cut off.
"Look, I need to tell you something. It's about your mission, I know who's the third. But! I won't tell you until you shut up" Hiccup threatened. In an instant Merida did shut up.
'Geez, this guy's changed from a shy, and weak boy to a jerk.' Merida thought.
"Hey! I am not weak!" Hiccup yelled and pouted. Merida felt herself smile.
"Wait, you can read minds?" she asked.
Hiccup shook his head. "Nope, you said it out loud"
Merida shook her head and chuckled. Suddenly she felt two arms hug her and Hiccup's head was buried on her wild, red hair. She slowly hugged him back.
"I miss you, Mer. I'm sorry for what I said in the past" Hiccup whispered.
Merida felt herself tearing up. She really missed him too. She hugged him tightly.
"I miss you too, Hic" Merida whispered back.
They let go and smiled at each other, both of them were crying. When they stopped, they chatted for a while then Merida asked the question that's been bugging her.
"Who's the third, Hic? And what are you doing here anyway?"
Hiccup looked at her seriously. "MiM told me to watch over you and to help you find the others. Since it's been seven years, I thought maybe this was my chance to apologize and make it up to you. And here I am, I enrolled at the same school where you are and kept an eye on you since the first day of school."
Hiccup stopped took a breath.
"I'm friends with Jack. Yes, Jack Frost, the one who you got in a fight earlier..."Merida was shocked but still nodded for him to continue.
" I'm the third, Mer. I'm serious about this" Hiccup said.
Merida looked at him, surprised and shocked.
"What?! How?""The mark appeared a month ago before I was sent here by MiM."
Merida suddenly got worried and panicky.
'I don't want hiccup to get in danger, why did it have to be him?' Merida thought.
She didn't notice that because of her emotions taking over her, she snapped a tree near them using her telekinetic powers."Hey Mer, calm down! Look you snapped a tree" Hiccup said.
Eventually, Merida calmed down a bit. She sighed and looked at the sky, it was getting a little dark. Then realization hit her.
Punzie and the others must be waiting at her house! She stood up, grabbed Hiccup's hand then ran to her house.
"Mer, what are you doing?!"
"I need to go home now, my friends and me are having a sldep over. They must've been waiting for me"
They finally reached her house and sure as hell Punzie and the others were waiting for her. Hiccup and Mer exchanged numbers and he went home, then Merida and her friend went inside.
