Chapter 8: Road to Pikoro

We were three days into the journey. We made a small stop and tied up the horses. I drank some water. Laurance and Vylad were laying up against a tree. None of us were saying anything. I finished up my water and packed the bottle in my bag. We all finished resting and got back on the horse.

That was akwardly quiet.

A few hours later we set up the tents and tied up the horses again. We made a small campfire and all sat around it.

I sat down next to Laurance and Vylad sat across us.

Vylad: So what's the plan once we get to Pikoro village?

Aphmau: We speak with Luke, and ask him if he knows where Lucinda is. I know it's been 15 years, but he still owes me a favor for saving his life.

Laurance chuckled.

Vylad went to sleep early since he took the guard job last night.

Laurance and I talked for about an hour. We talked about how well the village is doing.

Laurance: Yeah. And Cadenza did a great job on the armor.

Aphmau: Yeah. *yawn* You should be heading to bed now. I'm going to guard today.

Laurance: You? We're your guards. We're supposed to do that.

Aphmau: Yeah, but you do it a lot. I want to protect you guys too. When's the last time you had a good sleep?

Laurance: Yesterday.

Aphmau: No, a GOOD sleep. Like a real sleep.

Laurance: Umm, how long ago was it that we got back from rescuing your sons?

Aphmau: Laurance. Please. I'm taking care of the watch tonight. That's an order.

Laurance: Okay. Fine Aphmau.

He laid down. An hour later, I saw him sleeping like a baby.

"Laurance." I said. "You do tol much for me." I give him a small kiss on the forehead. "Thank you.

When it becomes morning, Laurance wakes up first.

Laurance: Good morning Aphmau.

Aphmau: Good morning.

He had a smirk on his face. I thought maybe he knew about the kiss? But I wasn't going to mention it.

1 day later

Finally, at Pikoro Village!

We were stopped by the guards on the entrance.

Guard 1: Welcome to Pikoro Village. What are you your intentions here?

Aphmau: We are here so see lord Luke.

Guard 2: Lord Luke passed away 3 years ago.

Aphmau: Oh. I'm so sorry to hear. Then who is-

???: Aphmau?!

She has orange hair. That had to be her.

Aphmau: Lucinda?!

Lucinda: APHMAU!

I ran up to her and hugged her.

Laurance: Well, that was faster then I thought it would be.

(Sorry for another short one. I'm going to try to make them longer. By the way there will be no chapter on mondays from now on. I'll use that day to take a break. Maybe I'll write a new series)
