Chapter 14: Mission complete
I couldn’t help but stare at the wonderful creation that had been standing right in front of me. Oh yeah I still have a boyfriend, crap!
He had this sexy and masculine, exotic look to him. He had broad shoulders. He was definitely toned up. I kept wondering how much this guy actually benches. His blue eyes where sparkling like the ocean. I can’t forget those luscious lips that…I’m gonna stop now!
He extended his hand out for a handshake. Lame! That’s just gross.
I held his hand, and accepted his ‘shake’ not wanting to look and seem rude leaving the poor guy hanging.
“Hey im Eric and…You are.” He said
“I’m Heather, and I live by here temporarily until summers over… you.” I said desperately trying to make the ‘convo’ more interesting.
“Me too, I’m with my dad…By the way the dress is pretty um…sexy.” He chuckled slightly with a grin.
Maybe the guy wasn’t such a turn off after all. He had something going for him.
“Um…Yeah…cool. So I hear that you need to find your way to Starbucks?” I chuckled nervously.
“Yeah definitely, but you know… I’d be happier if you’d join…” He said with a huge ass grin.
“Um…I think I’ll pass but thanks for the offer. My boyfriend is taking me out tonight…But we…Yeah know should definitely keep in touch. “I said hurriedly.
“Yeah.” He smiled.
He asked the cashier for a piece of paper so we could exchange numbers. He wrote down his number first on one sheet, as I wrote down mine. I hurriedly scribbled down my name beside my digits, then I passed it to him. When he gave me his, his name had been neatly written. Also his ‘I’ were dotted with hearts. Wow… I felt like crap!
“So, about our Starbucks date.” He chuckled.
“It’s not a date, I told you I’ll pass. I’ll call you sometime anyway! Oh look at the time…um I really should be getting home” I said hurriedly while paying for the dress.
“Um… no problems but you’re forgetting about-”he yelled as I ran in and out of the change room.
Before I officially left the store, I told him that Starbucks was…Well honestly…I forgot. Oops! I was just so interested into meeting Eric, but…Glad it turned out to be nothing serious.
“Thanks, but when will I –”He shouted while I proceeded to run out of the store like a wild hyena with my new purchase, before the awkward ‘convo’ would reach any further.

When I reached home, I slowly tiptoed upstairs while watching my dad fast asleep in his arm chair. Before I could finally reach upstairs, a door screeched open. I could sense footsteps coming closer towards me. Even though Aunty Katie gave me the money to buy the dress, I Can’t let her see me like this. The women studied psychology all her life. Trust me, she aint tricking this bitch!
“Heather are you there!” She yelled.
Before she could reach downstairs something just came over me. I was so determined to finish and succeed, in making operation amazing date with Ethan complete.
I could hear Aunty Katie’s footsteps coming closer towards me, so I just attached myself to the ceiling. Not the wall, floor, but the frickin’ ceiling.
Just one damn question. How the hell did I get up there?
“Heather! I know you’re here so don’t hide.” She said calmly as she made her way down in the living room.
While being upside down faced on the ceiling, I crawled. Then I closed my eyes. Thinking of my dress swaying in the wind. While Ethan looking mesmerized by my beauty. Sipping on champagne or preferably water. Watching the disco balls and lights gleaming. I opened my eyes and I was in my room. Weird? I guess my mission is complete, for now.
