*Kagome's POV*
"Kagome, you need to get up and get ready for the day. You can't just lay in bed all day." Mom yells from the bottom of the stairs. Groaning, I get out of my warm, comfortable bed. I shiver when my feet hit the cold floor. Slowly I walk over to my dresser and grab a random t-shirt and shorts. I change into the clothes and brush my hair before putting it up in a high pony tail.
I grab my phone before leaving the room and heading down the stairs that are right near my room. Once I get to the bottom of the stairs I smell food that mom is cooking.
"What are you making, Mom?" I ask her as I sit down on a stool at the counter.
"Doesn't surprise me that you already forgot," she quietly laughs. "The Taisho family is moving in next door and I am going to invite them over for dinner."
'Oh' I mouth.
I stand up and walk over to the fridge. I open it and reach inside for an apple. After taking a bite I close the door and start walking to the door. "I'll be home later. I'm going over to Koga's for a little bit." I yell so mom can hear me.
"Okay, don't be gone too late." Is all I hear before I leave the house.
I walk on the path that leads to Koga's house as I munch on the apple. The apple was really sweet and juicy.
After a minute or so of walking I get to the gate separating our yards. I open and then close it as I walk into his yard. Carefully I make my way to his house. After the fence there wasn't an exact path leading to his house.
Finally, I get to the house and just walk in. Knowing Koga for so long I instantly started going towards the living room where I knew he would be sleeping on the couch. I get there and find that he is actually not sleeping. Looking around me I try to figure out where he might be. I turned in the direction of the kitchen and got a glimpse of someones backside.
Very quietly I sneak over to the person, Koga. I get right behind him and tase his sides with my fingers. As he jerked around to grab whoever tased him, I spun out of his grasp.
"Kagome, what are you doing here?" Koga asked once he realized who I was.
"I just came over to say hi before I have to go with Mom to meet the new neighbors." I roll my eyes at the last part.
"Tell me how that goes afterward."
"You know, you could come with me so I won't be alone." I say, raising my eyebrows trying to get him to come with.
"I'm sorry. You know I would but I have to go to the Pack Mansion for a little while tonight." Koga explained.
I nodded. I understood what he meant. Koga is the Alpha in his pack so he has to go to the pack mansion to take care of pack business. One time I went with him. It was really boring.
"You guys hunting tonight or business?" I ask.
"We are hunting. We have to take the younger ones on their first hunt," Koga says reluctantly. He really doesn't like taking the younger ones on a hunt because they have no idea what to do and they don't ever catch anything.
'Oh' I mouth. I pull out my phone and check the time.
"Dang it," I mumble. "I have to go. Come over sometime so we can hang out, you know mom won't care." I start walking to the door.
I hear Koga say "kay" right before I go though the door and step outside. I slowly make the hard walk back to the gate and into my yard. Once in my yard I head towards the road to get the mail. I look both ways before crossing the road to get to the mailbox. A big moving truck pulls in right next door to my house as I close the door to the mailbox. I watch as a woman with long, black hair and a boy looking about my age with long, silver hair step out of the truck.
Quickly I turn around and head back to my house. Half way back to my house I glance back over at the new neighbors. It just so happened that the boy with silver hair looked over at me. We made eye contact which was very awkward, for me at least. Not paying attention exactly where I was going, I tripped over a crack in the road.
The mail dropped from my hands as my arms waved around beside me trying to keep me upright. After a moment I caught my balance. Realizing that the boy had seen all that my face turned red in embarrassment. I quickly reach down and pick up the mail that I had ungracefully dropped. I stand back up and start towards the house again. I sped up my pace slightly so to get out view of the boy, I could tell he was still watching me.
Once I'm in the house with the door closed I lean against the door and give a sigh of relief. My relief is short lived when I realize that I have to actually go over to their house with my mom. 'Maybe I can pretend to be sick so I don't have to go.' I thought. I shake my head, 'That wouldn't work'
I walk over to the kitchen looking for my mom.I find that she is not in the kitchen. I walk over to the counter and pull out the stool and sit down. Shaking my head I brush off the dirt from the mail. I started sorting it into piles depending on what it was.
Just as I finish sorting the mail I hear mom walk in behind me.
"Hey Mom, the new neighbors just got here a little bit ago," I tell her reluctantly as I turn towards her.
She started smiling, ready to go meet the new people. "Let 's go then."
Hey guys. So this is my new fanfiction. If you had read New People I'm sorry I deleted it. I just didn't like how it was going. This one is somewhat similar but I'm liking it a lot better already. I hope you guys like it and I will try to update whenever I can.
