Paige's POV:
I can tell it was going to be a tough day. The dark clouds were rolling in and I couldn't help but jump in my skin when I heard the thunder boom in the distance.
"Paige dear, come on. You'll be late!" Mother yelled from the spiral stair to my room.
"Coming mom." I call down weakly and I shove my XXL sweater over my small blonde haired head. I slipped on my fading dark jeans over my legs and slug downstairs.
"Paige. . ." My mother groans and then I remember what I will be late for. Our churches youth group Tidal Wave. My bright grey blue eyes widen and mother makes a weird disapproval sound and I run back up the stairs and get out my church clothes which was a knee length lace white dress with lace sleeves that adorn down the bodice that flatters my chest and thin stomach. I descend the stairs and my mom smiles and nods.
"Much better sweetie. Just remember, I am leaving right as I drop you off." My mom's voice trails off as my mind spaces and faces pales about being left alone. Memories flashback but I quickly stop them and shake my head.
"I will mom." I smile weakly and she kisses my forehead and we head out to the car. I feel a cold spot on top of my head as small rain droplets kiss the cement, leaving a permeating scent of after rain and water on asphalt smell. I take a deep breath and walk brisker to the car and slam the passenger door closed. Mom starts up the Alero Oldsmobile and head off to the Maple Church.
***********
"See you in a few Paige!" My mom yells from the driver's seat and drives off a bit too quickly. Its like she wanted to get rid of me.
"Miss Paige." my pastor's voice scares me and I jump visually. I turn to face him.
"Sorry to have scared you but we have a few new kids today. I wanted to introduce you to them. Please follow me." He smiles and I nod and follow in suit behind him. I kept my gaze equal to the ground and avoid all conversation. It sucks being the only shy girl of a very social youth group. I hope I can meet them and just get it over with.
"Alright! Here we are. Paige, meet Jordan, Rascal, Dorian, Wesley and Fleur." I look up and make eye contact with the most gorgeous set of ice green eyes. He was taller than I was, probably around 6'4" and had the most softest looking burnt caramel brown hair. He looked around my age though. I felt my face heat ad my eyes wandered his face from his perfect sculpted nose, to his high cheekbones down to his lips that begged to be kissed by something other then his own teeth. I felt light headed so I advert my gaze.
"Hey Paige!" one of the boys started to introduce themselves as they all followed suit in the same thing.
"Hey. I am Wesley." The boy who I was, basically checking out, introduces himself.
"H-Hi..." I stutter, cursing to myself for doing so. I couldn't help but feel something much more was going to come out of this meeting than just knowing someone new...
