At the end of the day, I walk to the gym and find Luhan with Kai.
“Hey Lindy!” they both greet.
“Hi!”
Kai glances at me and then back at Luhan. “Okay, well I’ll see you tomorrow. Have fun! See ya Lindy!”
“Bye Kai!”
That was odd. Why did he just leave? I look at Luhan who rolls his eyes at Kai and then looks back at me.
“Okay! Shall we get started?”
“Uh, sure. Where is everyone?” I ask, looking around the room.
“Oh… they’re uh, outside, running,” he replies, fidgeting with his hands.
“Um, okay…” Why would the rest of the team be outside running? It’s snowing.
“So what do you want to do for our routine?” he asks.
“Um, I don’t know. What did you have in mind?”
“I was thinking we could do Troublemaker…”
WTF? He wants to do Troublemaker…? Does he… is he insane?
“Uhh, are you sure?” I ask, looking at him quizzically.
His eyes widen and he quickly responds, “If you don’t want to do it, we don’t have to. We can always do something else! I just thought it might be fun…you know? Haha…”
He turns beet red. Well, this is awkward.
“No, no, I’m fine with it.”
And I am, albeit a little unsure, but I am okay with it.
“Okay, well, uh, do you want to start today? I uh, have to go to the library for a project. But we can still start…”
Does he not want to be around me? That doesn’t make any sense. He was the one who asked me if I wanted to be his dance partner.
“That’s fine. We can start next week. I have some…things to do…” I answer, trying to make up an excuse.
“Oh… Okay. I’ll see you later then.”
I walk out of the gym and into the snow. I head towards the library to pick up the other books that I need for a history project.
Why would he just suggest working on the dance later? He wanted me to be his dance partner. And why would the rest of the dance club be running outside in the snow? Oh my gosh it’s freezing!
My mind starts to ask dozens of questions. Does he not like me? Is he trying to make up some excuse as to why he wants me to be his partner? Is he just trying to use me? It’s not like I’m that good at dancing anyway. And why does he want to do Troublemaker? It’s such a…seductive dance. He’s so strange.
I walk into the library and sit down at a table to start on my history project. But I can’t seem to concentrate. My mind wanders from my project to Luhan. I still find it so peculiar as to why Kai left so suddenly. Does he not like me?
I tap my pencil on the table and turn to look at the small group of people filing into the library. Behind them, I see Luhan walk into the library. I quickly turn my head to pretend that I’m working.
Oh crap, if he sees me, he might think that I just came here to watch him.
I cover my face with my book and cautiously watch his movements around the library, making sure he doesn’t see me. He picks up some books regarding the French Revolution; my topic for my history project. He walks over to the table across from me, sits down, and begins reading.
