Holding on to you

Chapter 1

I'm sitting on my window sill staring at the rain that was pouring down outside .  I love the rain it's very soothing to me. I looked down on the floor and saw a picture of me and my dad , I smiled and felt the tears run down my cheeks I miss my dad so much. I wish I could just go back to the good times when my family was together again , when my dad passed I was never the same . I sighed wiping the tears from my face and putting the picture back on my desk . I decided that I was gonna take a walk to my best friends house , his name is Calum we've been friends since we were in the third grade . I grabbed my coat from behind the door and put it on . I grabbed my phone and headed out towards the front door
" Where are you going ? " my mom asked

" I'm gonna go to calums  for a while I'll be back before dinner. "

" Do you need a ride ?"

" I'm fine. "

" Okay! "

I opened the door letting the cold air and rain drops hit my face I put on my hood before continuing to walk . I sighed , I hate when I over think too much. It just feels like I can never escape my thoughts they're just always there, things that I hate to remember. I thought about texting Calum that I was coming to his house but , I just let it be he's probably in his room playing Fifa and drinking soda . I arrived at his house and was greeted by his mom.

" Hey Anna Calum is in his room. "

"Thank you Ms.Hood" I said with a smile and walked up the stairs to Calum's room. His door was cracked and I was right he was playing Fifa and drinking soda.

" Hey cal " he looked scared but then  realized it was me . "Hey Anna , gosh you scared me maybe I should turn the tv down " He chuckled .

" Don't you think " I replied laughing " so how's your girlfriend ? "

Yeah he had a girlfriend. I didn't like her .She was always rude to me in little ways and also thinks that she can get everything she wants. I sighed I didn't know why I was so jealous that she was with calum maybe because I'm just scared she's gonna take my best friend away or maybe it's deeper than that .

" She's okay " he says " She's gonna come with us to the mall on Saturday "

" Okay ,  I invited Michael to come along "

" Okay , I was gonna ask Luke but I think he has to go somewhere with his parents " I nodded

" Are you okay? You seem a little off. "  He asked concerned .

" I'm fine " I said with a smile even though I'm not. I should talk to calum about everything maybe he'll understand and help me get through it but, I don't want to put my problems on him because I don't want him to worry all the time. He has problems too and I just don't want to add to that .

" You sure ? " he didn't seem convinced .

" yeah I'm alright " I say trying to convince that I was okay.

" Okay " he seems like he wanted to bug me about it but he didn't . We played Fifa and listen to music by the time it was 7:30 I had to head home because I told my mom I would be home before dinner. Sadly , I didn't wanna go but had too.

" I'll see you tomorrow cal I told my mom I'd be back before dinner. "

" Okay!  I'll see you in the morning " he say smiling giving me a hug I hug him back  . I waved to ms. hood and walked out of the house it wasn't raining so I just let the wind blow my hair the walk was short since Calum lives on the next street I stepped into my home and locked the door behind me . I went upstairs to my room to change my clothes. I put on sweat pants and a nirvana shirt and put my hair in a bun I sighed and walk down stairs to the kitchen were my mom was.

" I didn't wanna cook so I got pizza " she says chuckling

" That's fine with me you know I love pizza"

I grabbed a plate from the cabinet and placed two pieces of pizza on it . I went in the living room and sat down on the couch . My mom came a couple of minutes later with her plate and two sodas .

" Anna Are you okay ? You know you can talk to me about anything " she says

" Im alright just a little tired "I replied

I finished eating and said goodnight to my mom I wanted to get to bed since it was already 10:30 at night I put my phone on the charger and set my alarm for 7:00 in the morning I got in bed I lied awake unable to fall asleep but eventually I did and didn't even know it .

This is my first story that I have written and I hope you guys like it !! :)
