Chapter: 42
Madeline's POV:
It was quiet as the only sounds were our the men's voices down below us as Arno and I were sitting on top of a balcony that overlook the Templar's meeting. It was typical of the Templars to have these as they use to use them to overlook the meetings, but they decided not to use them anymore. They still have, but I guess that's because they use for something completely different now. They haven't started the meeting yet and I was getting restless. I notice Thomas and Nickolas talking quietly to each other. The candlelight glow dimly, but it was hard to make out their expressions. The others I have recognized as they were all murmuring nervously to one another.
Alexandre and Marcus weren't there and that's because I ended one of their lives. It still makes me mad that Thomas murdered Alexandre in cold blooded. It wasn't cool at all, but if it wasn't him then I would had to. I still question if I could or not, but then I have to remember that the Templars and I are enemies now. There is no more friendly mutual friendship between us. It's all about survival now and the Templars will shortly lose this. We won't stand for them coming at us with war that could endangered the citizens of Paris. I won't let it happened and the Assassins won't either.
This will be our war to them and we will stop at all cost. They will not get what they want. I will make sure of that and it has to be stop now. Nickolas began the meeting as I lend in a little closer to the bars to make sure that I could hear what they will be talking about. Arno lend forward a little as well as his hand was on my mine. It was reassuring, but it was a little distracting as well. Nickolas murmured "Welcome my brothers"
They all nodded as Thomas had a scowl on his face as I didn't know why he did, but I do know why though. It becauses I have gotten rid of Marcus. I had sabotage their warehouse and he was anger that he was not able to end my life right then and there. It was good to not see him so smugged. For once, he did not have Nickolas approval. He shall know how difficult his position is going to be and I'm going to keep foiling his plans every time. It's going to go down one way or another. "It seems that our plan has been back up a little, but we will not keep trying to strive forward. We will bring the war to them one way or another. We will have our victory! If you guys see any assassin's eliminated them, but bring Madeline to me. She will be mine to deal with. Is that understood?"
Thomas scowled even more as he didn't like that at all, but everyone in the room murmured "Understood"
"We will have what we want and Paris will be ours. The Templars will have what they always deserve, but those damn assassins always get in the way. This time- is our time to rise and overpowered those foolish assassins once and for all" Nickolas banged his fists on the table in front of them as he had a look that was full of rage and if I didn't know any better, but utter madness.
"Be on your guard and have more guards around you. Our plan will succeed. That is all for today" Nickolas ended the meeting before turning around and walking away from the table.
We slowly departed from the balcony as I look down before coming to a stop. Thomas had came over to Julian Jean Gaston as I could see he didn't look very happy at all and Thomas look like he had a smirk on his lips. My ears picked up the sound of their voices even though it was quiet- it was really hard to hear what they were saying. I could make out just what they were talking about though. Thomas asked "Is our plan working?"
Julian answered with no expression on his face "Yes, we have confirmation that the contact met with informant"
"Good. Good. Any news on what's going on?" Thomas asked with a satisfied look that I wanted to wipe off so bad. It would be so easy to jump down on both of them, but it be my luck that I would slip up and make my presence known to them.
