"Corey, where are you taking me? Why didn't we take the car? Do you know that we've been walking for four blocks and I have heels on?!" I complained.
When we came back from Disney it was only 7:00 pm so Corey told me to get dressed. I put on a black dress and wore heels with it like an idiot.
"Come on, it'll be worth it." Corey said pulling me further.
"You know, life would be easier if you ever told me what these 'surprises' were." I muttered, plowing up some steps.
"Close your eyes." He said suddenly when we got halfway up the steps.
"Why--"
"Do it." He ordered, raising an eyebrow.
I sighed, closed my eyes and then covered them with one hand. He placed his hands on my shoulders and lead me up the stairs tentatively. When it felt like we were on level ground, I heard some shuffling and then Corey came back and moved my hand away from my eyes.
"Surprise." He smiled gesturing to a picnic set up on the middle of the roof we were on.
"This is the roof you asked Sab and I to marry you on, this is the roof we had our first date on...Corey this is so sweet." I breathed walking toward the picnic and sitting down.
"Yeah well, I figured this can be our safe place. I know we have a lot of Promises but, I want you to promise me just, one more thing." Corey asked quietly holding my hands.
"Anything." I whispered.
"Promise me that this roof, will always be more than just a place. If anything bad ever happens, on this roof we have to be able to talk to each other. This is now, our home away from home. Deal?"
"I Promise." I replied pecking his lips.
"Happy 2 year Anniversary." He smiled lifting his glass to toast.
"Happy Anniversary, the first of many." I added clinking glasses with him.
(A/N First because they didn't get to celebrate the actual first one.)
And I already knew that this roof would be our safe haven. I already knew this was going to be one Anniversary out of a lot. I knew because 2 years ago, when Corey and I kissed for the first time, I fell in love with an older boy, and staying with him was more than tempting. Our relationship, is not based on temptation, even though it seems that way. Our world started as two kids with big heart and tempted minds, and it will end as two kids at heart, who love each other so much. Our love is it's own wonderful, horrible, emotion-twisting, nerve-wracking roller-coaster of beautiful and healthy Temptation.

Corey and I usually go to our roof every anniversary together, so why he insisted on going ahead of me on our 12 year anniversary, I will never know. He told me to dress fancy, which I don't get since no one is gonna be there. He is his own mystery.
I looked through my closet and found a knee-length, flowy, cross-strap, white dress that I think looks good. I pulled my hair--which has grown back to it's original length-- in a fancy bun and put a white floral band around the bun itself. With my hair up my tattoo showed clearly on back and I smiled at the sight of it.Then I put on some gray heels and finished with lip gloss.
I walked to our roof and started going up the steps when I realized our usual picnic wasn't set up there. In fact there was nothing there, not even Corey. Instead there was a podium with a thin, old-looking, children's book on it. I walked over to it and read the title.
