Finding Hope Somewhere

Chapter 19

I was finally wasn't going to let anyone hurt me. Sure I like Bring me the Horizon, Pierce the Veil, Sleeping with Sirens, and Black Veil Brides but that doesn't make me emo. I hope that once this school year is over everything will change. I'm so done with high school.

It was the end of school for today and I was so glad. I felt bad for Jasper but I knew he would be okay. I grabbed my books that I needed to take home for homework. I walked out of the school halls and started my journey home. I put my earphones in the jack of my phone and put on "And the Snakes start to sing"

I've lost the plot again, tell your friends to sharpen their teeth

there's s a few quid to be made. and my souls a sorry state

so come on down your empty lovers. Worms come out of

the woodwork and the snakes start to sing. Do you feel the

chill clawing at the back of your neck? I start to spill. Did you really

think that you could fix me? They'll sell your bones for another role

well sharpen your teeth. Tell yourself that it's just business. Worms

come out of the woodwork, leeches crawl from out of the dirt, rats

come out of the holes they call home. I fall apart and the snakes start to sing.

I hummed the lyrics to the song. I noticed a shadow in front of me and I saw a guy with black hair and green eyes.

"Jack?" I shouted. The tall figure just continued to walk.

"What?"

"Stop"

He stopped at the place he was.

I ran over to him so now I was standing in front of his face.

"Whoa dude, you snake bites?"

"Yea, why?"

"That's so cool. Did it hurt?"

"No"

He just continued to walk leaving me there. I wasn't going to bother him for now. I continued to walk to my house. I got to my front door and the door was already unlocked. I thought that it was kind of strange because my Aunt Lynn couldn't leave the house without locking the front door and when she walks in the front door she locks the door.

I walked up the stairs to my room and I shut the door. I looked back behind me and there was Abigail. I was in total shock.

"What are you doing in my house?"

"Hmm I don't know"

"Get the hell out"

"You've got some nice things Laura" She said sliding her finger over my dresser.

"Abigail, what do you want?"

"Nothing."

"Then why are you here?"

"Just wanted to see where you live."

She picked up the picture frame of Jack and I and dropped it. The frame and the glass shattered. Then she picked up the picture and ripped it.

"See Laura, this is you and Jack. Your friendship is slip into half"

"I hate you Abigail"

She started to laugh.

"GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!!"

"Okay. But, you'll gaurentee I'll be back." She said closing the door behind her.

I walked downstairs making sure she leaves. I was scared out of my mind. I wondered where my Aunt Lynn was. I grabbed my phone and dialed her number, It went straight to voice mail. I walked over to my closet and grabbed my "Drop Dead" sweater. I ran down stairs and locked the door. I ran over to my Aunt Lynn's work which was across the street from the house. I ran inside and everyone was looking at me.

"Do you know where Lynn is?"

"Yea, she went to Savers"

"Where is that?"

"Where K-mart is"

"Oh okay. Thanks Lydia"

"Your welcome sweetie"

I quickly ran to the K-mart which was about a mile away. And there I saw a big sign that said "Savers Thrift Store." I ran inside and tried looking for my aunt. And then I saw here down the "Jeans isle"

"Aunt Lynn. What are you doing?"

"Looking at the jeans"

"Where is your phone"

"It died"

"Do you know how much I was worried about you. You left no note telling me you were gone."

"I'm sorry Laura"

"Its alright. Can we go now"

"Yes. I didn't find anything anyway"

My aunt and I got inside of her chevy and headed home. I ran up to my room and put my phone in my docking station. I put on "Hold on till May." I went inside the bathroom and decide to take a shower. I turned the knob so the shower water would start running. I grabbed my clean clothes and sat them on the toilet and got in my shower.

I started humming the lyrics to the song when I heard my aunt yelling my name.

"LAURA. YOU HAVE SOMEONE HERE TO SEE YOU!!!"

I turned the knob to turn off the water. I gabbed a towel and dried myself off. I put on my clean pajamas and walked down stairs.

When I got to the end of the stairs I saw Jack sitting on the couch.

"Jack what are you doing here?"

"Just came to say hi"

"Okay"

"Laura, can I talk to you alone?"

"Yeah, let's go to my room and talk"

"Okay" he said getting up following me to my room.

When we both got inside my room I shut the door behind us. Jack sat at the foot of my bed admiring the picture of us on my side table.

"We looked so happy there Laura" he said grabbing the picture frame.

"Yea, that's when you weren't hanging out with Abigail"

"Yea" he said sighing setting it the frame back down.

Jack sat up and came closer to me, he was inches away from me. He then put his arms out showing that he wanted a hug.

Our bodies touch as he pulled me into a hug. I could tell he was in pain. At that moment I felt bad for Jack.

"I've missed you Laura"

"I've missed you too"

We both pulled out of the hug and smiled at each other. I finally had gotten my best friend back.

"Laura I have a surprise for you"

"What?" I said cocking my eyebrow

He suddenly pulled out two tickets. I felt like I had just seen gold.

"I got us tickets to Warped"

"WHAT?!? I'M GOING TO WARPED!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH JACK." I screamed hugging him again

"I know it's next week. We'll finally get to see all out favorite bands"

"I know. I finally get to see oli Sykes"

I grabbed the ticket out of his hand and put it on my side table.

"Well, Laura I have to get heading home"

"Okay. Thank you again for the ticket"

"Your welcome" Jack said heading down the stairs.

I was so happy that I was going to warped. When Jack and I were younger we would always fantasize about going to warped one day. Now this day was finally coming, next week.
