Chapter Five: Studies

Caroline
Ito na naman si Maroon. Hatid at Sundo. Hatid at Sundo. Wala ba siyang naiisip kung hindi ihatid at isundo ako?
"Hoy, baliw!" Sigaw niya. Lakas nang sigaw. Halos rinig na rinig yung ibang units.
Lakas ng loob.
"Huy, si Ate. Nakikilig." Wika ni Naomi when she passed through me to pick up the sauce.
"Ano ka, sira ulo?" Sabi ko sa kanya.
"Sasakay ka na ba?"
2 hours later...
We were on the road. Walang wifi, walang service. Radyo lang.
"Gusto mo ba nang OPM?" tanong ng announcer nang station, "pwes, ang kanta ngayon ay Pangako Sa'Yo by Vina Morales."

abang tumtugtog ang kanta, tumingin na ako sa kanya. He looked back.
"Saan ba tayo?" Tanong ko.
"Basta. Surprise 'to."
Nagpark kami sa Zoocobia sa Pampanga. Kaya pala ang layo.
Baho ng dumi ng mga hayop dito.
"Saan ba tayo?" Tanong ko parin habang hinahatak niya ako.
It was fun.
Nag-zooc ride kami. Hindi ako marunong magdrive but pwede na din. Parang bata lang, no?
He led me to the Mango Camp.
Dun kami yung sa mga puno. Maroon took his book bag and left it in one of the trees. Kinuha niya yung basket at binigay sa akin ang isang necklace.
"Kala ko-"
"Eto na ang pagkakakataon na bumawi sa'yo. Kung hindi dahil sa iyo, hindi ako makakapasok sa top 10." Wika niya.
And his explanation was on his lips. Words can't be explained. Parang, imagination confined. Ang halik niya ay parang isang pillow na ang lambot.
Of course we studied and bought some souvenirs. From the zoo.
"So ang x ay isang variable, hindi constant?"
"Tama. At ang father of Algebra is Al-Khwarizmi. Tatanungin nang teacher mo yan. Basic." Yun lang ang sabi ko. Pabalik kami sa Manila.
"Salamat sa lahat."
No problem, babe.
Maya
Tinutulungan ko si William mag-aral para sa Law. Group study.
"So, magmall muna tayo." Said William habang nag-aaral kaming dalawa lang.
"Bakit naman?"
"To let me get to know you better."
"Sus." Biniro pa niya ako.
"Really. Seryoso na."
"Sige."
We got our things and went to Ayala Park, yung may lights sa Makati.
Gabi yun. We were in the center of the park.
The lights glowed for Christmas. Rainbow. Magic indeed.
"Ano 'to?" Tanong ko sa kanya. Nakikiligako sa kanya.
"Mahal kita."
"ANO?"
Kiss. He kissed me in the lips. Parang sweet like heaven.
He motioned his lips into mine and back. Then he puts his hands on my neck and I put my hands on his shoulders. It was playing (the music) Forevermore recreated by Juris Fernandez.
"You were just a dream that I once knew." Habang tumugtog yung kanta, love was arising.
We stopped kissing. He kissed me like before time. "Okay ka lang ba?" Tanong niya.
"Yup."
Someone saw us. He clapped with his girlfriend and everyone clapped too kasi karamihan nakita kami nagmomoment.
We both giggled and went to a restaurant to study. Mostly, may nagtreat sa amin na dalawang restaurant na nakita kami.
Valentines ang peg.
Kristi
Study time ngayon. I was working with Josh for the thesis project and the J&S meeting.
"Anong topic?" Tanong niya habang nagpapacute siya sa akin. Puppy Dog eyes.
"Conserving the Wildlife and the Rules, Regulations and Violation of the Law of the Philippines."
"Ang haba pala niyan. What about magbreak muna tayo. Treat ko." Nagyaya siya. Kilig pa more para bagsak pa more.
I can't deny his treat. Yaman yun eh.
He took me to a trip to Vigan using his plane. Ang ganda pala dun.
I was roaming around the village. And historic dito.
Ilocano ako, at kapampangan si Josh. Bad boy din siya.
We roamed around Vigan.
"How do you like this, Kristi?"
"Okay lang. Parang naiinlove na ako." I replied. His face was so cute. Black-haired, suave and chinito.
"Naiinlove ka sa akin?" Tanong niya.
Oo. Pero ayaw kong sabihin.
Sakit ng heels. Muntik na ako mahulog pero Josh catched me. His arms wrapped around me. I threw my arms on his shoulders, his hands on my waist.
Charming. May soft side.
"Are you okay?" He was worried.
"Okay lang ako."
"STOP SAYING YOU'RE OKAY. EVERYTIME I HEAR THAT, IT MAKES ME WORRY ABOUT YOU EVEN MORE." He exclaimed.
Hala. Wala akong nagawa. What did I do? It's not like I hurt him.
"I-"I said as reached my hand to his bulky shoulders.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that." He faces me. He lets my hands be in his shoulders.
Then I lean towards him. He leans closer. He pushes his face to mine.
Then here's the kiss.
His kiss is equals to a thousand hugs. More and more emotions come back to me. All memories. Everything we did.
Biglang tumugtog yung On the Wings of Love. Ganda ng setting. Promise.
We stopped it. Our face was apart.
"I love you, Kristi."
"I love you too, Josh."
