Albus

I slide into my seat in transfiguration class and look at Scorpius, who seems to be still fed up about Rose thinking that he wrote this stupid note.
"Attention!" Professor McGonagall calls as she walks to her desk.
"Today we will be working on-" and that's when my mind started to wander. Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I am thinking about asking Alice if she wants to go to this coffee shop.
"Mr.Potter, are you paying attention?" McGonagall announces and my attention snaps to her. I hear Alice giggle and Rose and Scorpius snort.
"Uh yes, professor," I say.
"There will be no staring into space in my class. Next time I will be talking to your head of house," She commands.
It's midday and I'm already not paying attention, great. Divination was a drag now I'm barely paying attention in Transfiguration I think as McGonagall drones on about something as I wrote down ideas about what to do with Alice and how to invite her.
"She does not look happy, mate," Scorpius whispers and I look up.
"Who?" I whisper back careful to watch McGonagall as she continuesthe lesson.
"Alice, she looks upset about something," Scorpius whispers nodding towards Alice. I look towards her and notice that she looks deflated in a way, she has her head on her arms and doesn't look like she's even paying attention to the lesson. Which in itself is strange seeing as Transportation is one of her favorite classes.
"Mr. Potter detention! If you wish to pass this class then it is required that you pay attention." Professor McGonagall snaps, clapping her hands in front of my face.
"But Professor-" I start to say befor I see her narrow her eyes causing me to stop talking.
I set down my head on my arms glumly and even though I attempt to pay attention I can't help but let my mind wander.

"Hey Albus! Wait up!" I hear Rose call from behind me. I turn around and wait for my winded cousin.
"Hey so what are you getting Alice, ya know for her birthday?" She says catching her breath.
I widen my eyes with shock as I realize that Alice's birthday is on Valentine's Day, otherwise tomorrow!
"It's a, um surprise," I say slowly thinking of what I could get her.
"Hm. Sure, just don't get something tonight because that would mean you forgot or waited until the last minute to get her something and if you forgot I might kill you tonight in your sleep. Sweet dreams!" Rose says sweetly before walking away into the crowd of students flooding the corridor. That girl gives me the creeps. I walk into the huge crowd and head to Defense Against the Dark Arts with Gryffindor. Teddy Lupin leans up against his desk as all of the student desk are pushed up against the wall. "Hey Al, ready to learn about boggarts?" Teddy says. "Yep, Teddy," I say and stand with all the 3rd years. Scorpius and Rose enter and say hi to Teddy and head over to me. Alice appears out of a huge crowd and we all stand in front of the crowd. "Hello class. Today we'll be learning about boggarts," Teddy introduces,"Now can anyone tell me what a boggart is besides Miss Weasley." I know the answer I just need time to think of what to get Alice. "Mr. Malfoy?" Teddy calls. "It's a shapeshifter that lurks in the dark and takes shape of what a person fears the most," Scorpius says. "Correct I've managed to capture a boggart for you to practice on. You must say riddikulus and point your wand at it. Now everyone say riddikulus," Teddy says and everyone says it. "Good let's form a line," Teddy says and brings his desk in front of us. He opens the top drawer and the boggart takes form of a Allison mumbling something in Alice's  ear. Alice starts to violently shake and she falls to her knees. "Riddikulus," I shout and point it at the boggart as two other do so, Rose and Scorpius, and the boggart starts to dance. "Miss Weasley, Mr. Malfoy, Mr. Potter, and Miss Longbottom can you stand to the side?" Teddy ask and helps Alice to the side. She mumbles here and there as I hold her. "He knows we've been though a lot. I know my boggart it's my mom at least I think I'm not sure," Rose says and looks down.

Teddy holds all four of us back and talks to us. "I should have know. I know you four well and I know I can't let your boggarts shown in class. Your families and your connections. It makes since so if you want to see your boggart give it a shot," Teddy says. "Its probably just my mom, I'm fine,"Rose says as Teddy releases the boggart. But its not Mrs. Weasley- Granger, its me pale and lifeless. Rose points her wand and mumbles riddikulus and it changes to Albus  then Alice. "Riddikulus," Teddy says and captures the boggart. "I'm guessing your boggarts go like that,"Teddy says as Scorpius helps Rose up. "How about all of you lot go up to your common room and relax," Teddy says and we nod.

"Hey Al, do you want to go to Hogsmeade with me tonight? I have to get some new books for potions class. But we'll have to sneak out but it's not something we can't do. Ferret and fox," Scorpius says as I sit down next to him in our common room. "Sure what time?" I ask going over the list I made of possible presents for Alice. So far I have a buttercup charm for a charm bracelet that I would get, a new broom case, a new potion bottle set, and a heart necklace with our initials engraved on the heart. I run up to our dorm and grab Dad's invisibility cloak and fold it up in my pocket.

"Umm in a few minutes actually, we should make our way downstairs about now if you want to come," he says standing up.

"Okay let's go then, he Scorpius, what are you getting Alice for her birthday," I ask, "I mean it's not like I haven't gotten her anything yet but still."

"Oh I'm getting her a new scarf I don't really know if she'll like it....," he says his voice trailing off as we walk past the fat lady painting.
We eventually reach the front of the school and change into animagus form then sneak out to Hogsmeade. Time to find a gift.

The next morning I pack the heart necklace inside a new package and Scorpius and I got down to the Great Hall. "Alice will love it mate. But don't give it to her when we are here but rather when you two are alone,"Scorpius says and I see Alice and Rose walking down the staircase. "Woah,"Scorpius says under his breath and regains his snarky position. Alice is wearing golden dress robes and Rose is wearing red dress robes. "You look lovely," I tell Alice.

I walk Alice out leaving Scorp and Rose alone. "So what do you have planned, Mr. Potter?" Alice ask as we walk hand-in-hand to Hogsmeade. "Well I'm taking you to that nice coffee shop,"I say and she smiles. "Oh thank you, Albus," She gushes and kisses my cheek. Once we get to Hogsmeade, we walk in the direction of the coffee shop and I hold the door for her. I order us two coffee's and give the man two sickles. We sit in the back corner far away from the snogging couples. "This place is cozy besides the couples,"Alice says and looks around. I pull out the parcel and hand it to her. "Happy Valentine's Day and birthday," I say as she opens it. "It's lovely, Albus,"Alice says and she hugs me. "It has our initials on it," I say and she smiles. "Thank you," She says. So far, a great Valentine's Day.
