Chapter One

"BEEP!!! BEEP!!!"

I wake up to my alarm at 6:30am. I burst out of my bed and straight to my bathroom. I turn on the water, and make sure it is the right temperature and then take my pajamas off and hop in. I use my Mane n Tail shampoo and conditioner. Then I wash my body with a apple body wash. I turn the water off and hop out. I dry myself off and wrap the towel around me. I open the door and head over to my closet. I pick out a flowy grey shirt, skinny jeans, and a light blue scarf. I then pick out some socks, then I get my white converse. I put my socks on, then my converse. I head back to my bathroom. I blow dry my hair, I brush it out again. I put on a black under armor headband to keep my bangs out of my face.
"Dang it! I still have to load Moon." I scream to myself.
I take off my converse and put on my muddy rain boots. I go back to the bathroom to finish up my hygiene and makeup. I then head out to the barn. I find my jet black mare in the pasture grazing. I head in with a new black lead rope and halter. She comes toward me trotting. She stops right I front of me. I then slip the halter over her head and clip on the lead rope. I lead her to her stall, but I stop and put her in crossties in the isle. I quickly groom her then I wash her. I braid her mane and tail.
"Wow." I step, amazed by my work.
I then put her new white blanket on. I load her into our hi-tech trailer and unclip the lead rope. I close the trailer door and get my things. I put my 4 suitcases into the back seat of the truck. I then load my tack box into the hood of the truck.
I go back into the house and grab basically all of my shoes. I shove them into a big pink bag. I check off everything I need, including my hygiene, clothes, shoes, and jewelry. I grab my MacBook and slip it into my backpack, with some books, my phone, chargers, headphones, and some snacks. I go outside and hop into the front sit. My mom is driving me because my dad is stuck at work. We start our 4 hour journey to Clearspring Academy.

"Beth, were here."
I wake up and look outside my window. I was speechless. We park in an open spot. I immediately open my door and head to the back, towards the trailer. I open the door and lead my jet black mare out. A skinny girl, with wavy blonde hair notices me.
"Nice mare, she is stunning." She says to me.
"Thanks." I say back.
I walk towards the 2 story stable. I find my stall and lead Moon in. I unclip the lead rope and close and lock the stall door behind me, as I leave to find my mom. I find her at the administration. We head to my dorm. My dorm number is B32. My roommate is coming tomorrow so I had dibs on the bed and closet I want. I walk up to my dorm.
"Here we are." I say nervously, unlocking the door and pushing it open.
My mouth dropped open. It was huge, we even had our own bathrooms. I picked everything on the right side. The color we settled on was grey, and a light blue. I made my bed and put everything in my bathroom neatly. I put everything in my closet including my shoes and clothes. We had a small dresser in the closet too, so I put my under garments in there. I said goodbye to my mom and she left. I decided to go ride Moon. I put on a grey polo shirt and tan jodphurs. I then put on some riding socks then my riding boots. I put on a Pink brand sweatshirt and head over to the stable. Once I was there I saw my mom had put my tack box by my stall. I took off her blanket and began to groom her. I picked her hooves and began to tack her. I settled on a grey saddle pad and polos. I put the grey saddle pad on first. Then my black saddle, and bridle. I began to put on the grey polos. I put on my helmet and led her to an arena. I found one with jumps set up and decided to use it. I walked in and mounted Moon. I warmed her up for a little bit. Then I go towards a jump. We lift off and perfectly fly over the jump. We finish the course and repeat it a few times before I get off. I lead her to her stalls and claim a spot for crossties. I clip her in and take her tack off. I put the saddle, bridle, and polos in my tack box, and head towards the washing machine, I put my saddle pad in and wash it, while that goes I walk back to Moon. I quickly groom her and take her braids out. Her mane and tail come out wavy. I brush them out a bit. I then take her out of crossties and lead her towards the pasture. I almost run into a guy with light brown hair and blue eyes.
"I'm so sorry." I say nervously.
"It's ok. I'm Austin, you are?" He asks curiously.
"Beth." I respond back.
"Nice name." He says, trying to flirt.
"Thanks." I blush.
I continue my way to the pasture. As I get closer, I hear screams. I begin to quickly walk. As I see what the screams were coming from, my eyes widen. There is a teenage girl on the ground. I see blood. Lots of blood. I see a young gelding, who has blood on his hooves, galloping around. I was still holding Moon, trying to keep her calm. I see paramedics rushing towards the scene. A crowd begins to start, everyone asking me what happened. I see an ambulance arrive. She was loaded into it. I saw that the gelding got caught and put into a small corral. I can't believe this happened on the first day. I continued to walk Moon over to a pasture. I let her go and walked back to the barn. Everyone was talking about the incident. I quickly put my lead rope into my tack box and leave. As I am walking back to my dorm, I see Austin with a girl with dark brown hair, almost black. She also had freckles and light blue eyes. They must be dating. I continued walking back when he noticed me.
"Beth, wait up!" He said, out of breath running behind me.
"What do you want." I asked flirty.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go to a movie tonight? You and me? Alone?" He asked fairly nervous.
"Uh, sure. Why not?" I answered.
He smiled. "7pm, meet here."
I began to walk. I got to my dorm and looked at the clock. Crap. It was 5:30pm. I had little time to get ready. I picked out some black leggings, a Pink brand sweater, and my white converse. Not a very dressy outfit, but it was casual. I checked the clock, 5:47pm. Time to do my hair. I went into my bathroom and plugged in my curling iron. I waited a few minutes and then brushed out my hair. I began to curl my hair. It took me a while, but I finished. I checked to clock again. 6:26pm. Just enough time to do my makeup. I started off with a little bit of foundation. I rubbed it in with my fingers. I then begin my eyeshadow. I stick with a neutral light pink. I then put on a neutral lipstick shade. I finish with my eyelashes. I curl them then put mascara on, then I curl them again. I'm finally done. I check the clock one last time. 6:56pm. I better get going.
