Chapter  One

Isabella  of  France   was  beautiful but  yet  maniplative   and was  out   to  get  what  she  wanted  but  she  didn't  always  started  out  like  this.  Isabella  was a  french  princess, beautiful and educated.  She  was  barely   12 years  old  when  she  was  to  marry  England's  24  year  old  King  Edward  the  Second.  This  might  sound  strange   to  us  in  the  modern,  a young  girl   still  a  child  married  to  an  older  man  but this what  Royals did at  the   time. Have  their children  especially  their  girls  marry   very  young.

She was  the daughter  of  Joan 1  of  Navarrae  and  King  Philip IV of France and  her three brothers  Louis, Philip and Charles  were  all  Kings  of  France.  France and England  had  a turblent  past  and  present. ,  they were always  fighting  each othher  and  Isabella  was the  peace  treaty.   

Isabella  like   most  royals  was  also  educated    a  great  deal, she  was  beautiful,  smart  ,  elegenat  and  graceful and  even at  12  years old  she was  a great  beauty.   Men   would  have  fallen  for  her     but  it  was  not   another  men she wanted  but  the  love of  her  husband   Edward  the  2  of  England.

She  had  no  idea  that  when  she  arrived   in England  there  will be    three  people  in  her  marriage. Her  husband, her  and  his  favourite  , a  man  !   This  man  wasn't  even  noblity,  he  was  commoner  who   Edward  bought  to ranks.   But  what    could she   do,  she  was  a  woman  and  it wasn't  a  marriage  of  love  but   of  poltical  means  and  she was  just  12  years  old.

  That  was  about  to chaneg  in  a  few  years.

Edward  was  handsome  enough  but  he  was  weak  and  he  was  a  relucatant  king and   was  unconvental    because  of  his   romantic  attachment  to  Piers Gaveston.

   Edward  and  Isabella  married  on January 25 th  1308  but  it  would  be   an  unhappy  wedding.

                               Isabella   wrote  to  her  brother  in France  in  the  letter   she    tells  her  brother.

    Dearest  Brother,  my  King,  Please  save  me   from   this  awful  match,  the  king  has  no  desire  for  me.  He  has  a desire  for   his    favorite     a commoner ,    Can   you  believe  this.,  I am  a  Princess, I was  born  to  be    queen  but  yet  he   dismisses  me  like    I  am  some   commoner.  Brother  please  get   me  out  of  this   entrappment  of  a  marriage  and  arrange    another  marriage  for  me.   Please  I  beg of  you,

The  letter  had  taken  some  time  to reach  King  Louis  and  his  brothers  in  France,  they  were  concerned  of  how  they  were  going  to  deal  with  the  situation.   Should  they   declare   war   and  arrange  other  marriage  for  their  sister.   

Louis    wanted  to trend  waters,  he  would  do what  he  can  to help  his  sister  but  he  hoped    she  and   Edward  would  work  it  out for  France and England's sake  but   he  was  worried  about    Isabella    . In  her  letters     she   sound  unhappy.
