It took about five minutes but eventually Nico found us. We were all laughing at jokes we had been telling. But as soon as the Ambassador showed himself we all stopped. He seemed to walk out of the shadows. His voice was almost to kind for his appearance. "I see you three have a little predicament here."
Avery smiled, "just a little one."
Nico looked around as if he was making sure the area was safe. "Well, I guess I should get you three back before curfew."
He grabbed my hand and Jace's, Avery, apparently knowing what he would do, grabbed his knee. Suddenly everything was dark, cold, and all scary to be honest. But just as soon as the darkness overshadowed us, we appeared in the shadows of the Hades cabin.
"Now you three get to your cabins, and I'll tell Chiron I found you." He disappeared back into the shadows.
Avery seemed like she did that all the time, she said goodnight and walked off toward the Nike Cabin. Jace and I looked at each other and just walked toward our own cabins. He went to the Tyche cabin, and I went into the Hypnos cabin.
I immediately felt tired. Soft music played, Hemmy, Sari, and Shuan were passed out. A note on the bunk below Shuan read, 'Kyle, we brought your stuff.' I looked under the bunk and found my suitcase. But I was too tired to get back up. I fell into a deep sleep.
My dreams returned. The barren landscape spread out around me once again. Immediately I noticed something. The tree was gone. And in its place was a woman with hair as dark as night. She looked at me with eyes made of pure salt. Her dress was made of thick blue thread that radiated a deathly black light. Her skin was made of silver. As she spoke the earth around her morphed into different landscapes. "Kyllian Snu. Son of Hypnos and Tiana Snu. Do not deny my mark. You have broken the ancient laws. Pay with compensation, or pay with your very existence."
With that last word her eyes and mouth began to glow orange. The mark on wrist did the same. I felt the life force being sucked from my body as the landscape fell into chaos. I began dissolving into black sand. The I screamed, and saw a very scared Hemmy looking down at me. "You know, most of us use a bed."
I was awake. My body felt bruised and limp. But I managed to stand and Hemmy dragged me out of the cabin.
He explained to me that most children's first night in the Hypnos cabin was hard. But I knew that wasn't it. At breakfast I ate quietly after dumping some cereal into the fire brazier. And after word I followed my cabin mates to the sword arena. Luckily for me Jace was there, so at least I had someone to talk to when Hemmy passed out on the bleachers.
Jace looked at me curiously. "You are the least tired son of Hypnos that I have ever met, you know that."
"Yeah, I'm starting to think that I am. Those three don't do anything."
"They're not the only other children of Hypnos. You know that right?"
I in fact didn't. "What?"
"During the summer there is about twenty-eight more."
"So your saying I have thirty-one siblings that I have never met."
"Well you have more, but at Camp, Yeah. But thats nothing. Instructor Stoll over there has forty-three just in camp. That's not including the ones over eighteen, unclaimed, or from New Rome. He's the son of Hermes, God of, well a lot of stuff. But Stoll is mostly from the thieving side of his dad."
Then Stool turned to us. "Snu. Your up next." The fighting Ares kid was just then knocked out by Avery.
