Finally, I updated. I apologize if this chapter isn't really great and it flows weirdly, the first part I started writing a couple months ago and the last part I finished now. So, it may be kind of odd. I'm also so sorry for such a long wait. In addition I changed the cover, so I hope you like this one too (also made by rebellionofalifetime). Please read, vote, and comment! Thanks!

Chapter 6

22 hours and 39 minutes left until departure.

"Oh my gosh," she stammered, flustered. Tears were running down her cheeks like a waterfall, completely confused and afraid. Without a second thought, she attempted to accumulate all of her power and move her body. Once succeeding, she raced down the stairs faster than she ever did at a track meet. When she finally reached the surface, she looked around in the water for a body.

"No," she continued to repeat. It couldn't be happening. Asra was her best friend, and because she didn't get in that car accident, she was in grave trouble. She reached her hand into her pocket to take out her phone, but it was completely empty other than a couple coins and a dollar bill. She patted each of her pockets, but none felt like they had a phone in it. Her teeth were chittering loudly, fear overwhelming her.

"Oh!" she shouted frantically, and ran over to where she was just standing, She saw her phone in dark green grass below and snatched it without a second thought or wasted movement. She dialed the police station once again, but that time, it was someone else. When they answered and asked what she needed assistance for, Cyara Anders practically screeched, "Asra, I mean, my friend just fell in the water from the top of the bridge and I can't find her body anywhere." As she was speaking, she broke down into a myriad of small, heartfelt sobs. Cyara poured her heart out in those moments, releasing the terror she couldn't before, when she wasn't even able to move from horror.

After the police officer had attempted to calm her down, they impatiently asked for the location.

"Redwater Road," Cyara spoke. She continued to walk on the edge of the water, eyes focused on something to signal Asra was there. They told her a few things she didn't pick up and she hung up immediately. Cyara dropped her phone on the ground and decided to submerge herself into the river. The cold water engulfed her body and she doggy paddled for the time being, still scouring the area with determination. Where is she? she repeatedly asked in her brain. Where can she be? Asra, where in the world are you?

"Asra!" Cyara bellowed once again. Finally, about ten meters away from where she was, she saw something large floating in the water. Cyara quickly got into swimming position and swam over; the closer she got, the more evident it was that it was her best friend. When Cyara reached her, her body was unmoving; not even a single muscle seemed to be functioning.

"Thank goodness, you're still alive," Cyara said, flipping her cold body upwards and dragging her out of the lake. Once they exited, Cyara got into CPR position and attempted to revive her friend. There was no response, but Cyara did not stop; she definitely did not want to stop.

"Come on," she panted. "Come on, Asra, wake up. Don't you die." New tears began to surface on the bottom and corners of her eyes. "Please, don't die."

In a few minutes time, she noticed flashing red lights, an ambulance on its way to the scene. She moved back, covering her mouth as she wailed. "They can save her," she tried to assure herself.

One tested her heart and pulse, and looked at the other officers. He shook his head, and Cyara knew exactly what that gesture meant.

Asra Nasar, her best friend of over ten years, had died.

At first, Cyara just watched them put her on a bed and cover her with a white sheet. Then, a police officer came and stated, "You witnessed this girl's death, correct? I'd like to ask you a few questions-"
