Prologue.
(Mikey’s Point Of View (POV))
I awakened to the sun shining through my window, it felt late. I looked over to my clock and saw that it was 10am. For a second, I panicked, before remembering that it was Sunday. Only one more day left of the summer holidays.
I sighed, climbing out of my bed and walking to my en suite bathroom. I undressed and climbed into the shower. I flicked on the water and let it run down my body, soaking my skin. I yawned, still tired. Once I had washed my body and hair, I jumped out of the shower...literally. I slipped and fell on my bum.
I groaned and crawled out of the bathroom, to my wardrobe. I dried and got dressed, still on the floor. I finally dragged my body up, off the floor before leaving to walk downstairs.
I found my mum and brother, Jake, in the kitchen. “Morning you guys.” I muttered. “What’s up with you, Michael?” My mum responded, obviously catching on to my unusual calmness. “I hurt my bum bum.” I whined. My mum nodded and went back to doing whatever she was doing, I was too busy getting a drink of pepsi to notice. Jake was sat on the counter, watching me. He was weird.
Jake was always quiet, not grumpy though. He was depressed and had been since he was 17, now he’s 19. He was like that because when he was 17, 4 of his friends were all murdered within a week and the murderer was never found. I sighed, remembering how Jake cried for almost a month after that.
Shaking the thoughts out of my mind, I decided that I’d go shopping to buy some stationery for school tomorrow. My first day in Year 12, sixth form! My 17th birthday was only a week ago so I’ve been pretty busy.
“I’m going to go shopping, Mum.” I said to my mother before leaving the house without waiting for her response. It was a nice day so I walked to the shops. Just as I entered one of my favourite places to go to, I saw a boy around my age staring at me from one of the aisles. He had the most scary eyes I’d ever seen, they were a really light blue, almost white. I shook it off, realising they were probably contacts. The boy was a brunette, he was tall, thin and pale which made him look even more scary. His look was..intriguing.
I decided to ignore him so I gathered some things for school, bought them and left. I had ages left so I went to the park. As soon I saw some swings, I squeeked and ran to them. The park was empty so I went crazy.
Finally, after hours of being a monkey, I was tired. The sun was setting so I sat on the swings, gently rocking back and forth, watching the sun disappear behind the hills. As I was lost in my own thoughts, I heard the park gate swing open. The boy from the shop earlier walked in.
He walked over to me, maybe he was lost? He stood directly infront of me, blocking the sun. “I know you,” he whispered. His gentle whisper sent shivers down my spine. “Oh, how?” I replied, trying to remain calm. “It’s going to happen,” he said coldly. “What’s going to happen?”
“It’s going to be painful and it’s going to happen soon,” he walked away.
