Charlotte was singing along to “Bibbity Bobbity Boo” as she waited for Tony to come over in full costume. We were all going trick-or-treating like a little family. Charlotte looked amazing in her gypsy pirate costume, I even gave her gold hoop earrings to wear and several bangles and her trooper boots added to the ensemble. And I must say, I was very proud with how my Rosie the Riveter look came out.

“Put it together and what have you got, Bibbity Bobbity Boo!” Charlotte sang as she came skipping over and gave me her pirate snarl and hooked her finger. I giggled and kissed the top of her head.

“Aren’t you a cute little pirate?”

“Momma I’m supposed to be tough, not cute!”

“Well I always think you’re cute love bug.”

The doorbell rang and I was praying it was Tony and not trick-or-treaters. I wanted to leave before they came. Charlotte ran over to the door and I checked through the peephole and my heart stopped momentarily as I got freaked out by Tony in full costume.

“It’s your dad.” I sighed before unlocking the door and opening it. Charlotte giggled at Tony and I raised an eyebrow and smirked.

“Does it look okay?” Tony asked, his normal voice a bit distorted behind the mask.

“It sure does Mr. Skywalker.” I joked referencing when Luke dressed as a Storm Trooper in The Last Hope.

“Yes! Thanks babe, you both look amazing, ready to go? We better hurry, I saw some kids heading down the block.”

“Shit let’s go!” I handed Charlotte her bag and Tony and I both had pumpkin buckets. I locked up behind us and Charlotte held Tony’s hand and I held the other as I walked on the other side of her.

It would be a long night but I knew Charlotte was looking forward to this. She hadn’t gotten to share this with her daddy before and I knew Tony was excited too. We walked up to a house and Tony rang the doorbell. As soon as the door opened we were greeted by a middle age lady who smiled brightly at us.

“Trick-or-treat!” We all said in unison.

“Oh my, great costumes!” Charlotte giggled and thanked her before we got candy.

“Your little girl is precious.” She whispered to us.

“Thanks!” Tony replied.

“I’m sorry, but my son is obsessed with Star Wars, do you think I could take a picture of you to show to him when he comes back from trick-or-treating?” Tony laughed at her question.

“Sure!”

I’m sure it was different than being asked since he was Tony Perry, but tonight he was a Storm Trooper. She took a picture of him posing and then I offered to take a picture of them together. Tony wrapped his arm around her shoulder and the wife smiled at the camera.

“Here ya go!” I handed it back to her.

“Oh thanks so much!”

“No problem, may the force be with you!” Tony replied before Charlotte waved and we went on.

“You were surprisingly not shy.” I stated.

“It’s because I have this mask on.” He chuckled.

“Good point handsome.”

Tony bumped his hip with mine playfully before Charlotte urged us to go on. We went through the whole neighborhood and all of us got complimented on the originality of our costumes. And then there was the fact that we got a crazy amount of candy, it was insane. The buckets were heavy as was Charlotte’s bag.
