When we showed up at the tattoo parlor where Tony’s artist works I dragged him inside and he laughed trying to catch up with me. We approached the desk and the girl looked up at me, smiling, I smiled back.

“Hi how can I help you today sweetheart?” She was really pretty with different tattoos and piercings.

“Hey, I have an appointment with Dan today, my name is Allison Abrams.” I replied. She checked me in and then went to go and get Dan. Tony handed me the piece of paper with the picture and quote I wanted. Dan came walking over, covered in tattoos with stretched ears as he and Tony greeted each other with friendly smiles and bro-hugs.

“Dan the man, good to see you, this is my girl Allison, Allison this is Dan.”

“Nice to meet you Dan.” I outstretched my hand as he shook it firmly.

“Nice to meet you too Allison, I can definitely see why Tony is a lucky sonofabitch now, you’re gorgeous.” I blushed and he chuckled, Tony kissed the top of my head.

“So what can I do for you today babe?” Dan added.

“Right, I want to get the picture of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet and get the quote with it, I want it to be exactly like the picture, except I want the front in a cursive script and I don’t really want too much color for it, just enough. I know it might seem a little childish, but, the quote is something that my mom told me a lot…and it’s something I tell our daughter too when she needs comfort.” I explained.

“I think this is great, where did you want it?” I patted the back of my right shoulder.

“Right there, I want people to be able to see it.” I said.

“Great, let me go sketch this up real quick, and we’ll get right to it.” I thanked him and Tony and I went and sat down on the leather couch. He traced the area where I would soon have a tattoo and he placed a gentle kiss on my shoulder blade. I was wearing a strapless baby doll top so I could get the tattoo done easier. I was getting more and more excited.

“Love you.” Tony breathed in my ear.

“Love you too.” We kissed and then got called back. Dan showed me the outline and I loved it, it was perfect. He then carefully set it on my skin, had me check in the mirror, and then I straddled a chair, resting on my elbows as he sat behind me. Tony sat in front of me and held both of hands.

“So how did you and Tony meet Allison?” Dan asked as the needle began to buzz and hit my skin. I grimaced momentarily before breathing through the discomfort and focused instead on Tony’s handsome face.

“Oh man, we met back in middle school, he was a seventh grader and I was in sixth grade and we were both awkward and didn’t really fit in, I was really quiet and shy and Tony was the kid that wore all black with crazy images on his band shirts. We were both in line for lunch, someone tripped Tony and he bumped into me and the rest is history. We were all each other needed, we didn’t care to have anyone else.” I explained.

“Wow dude, really, you knocked her over?” Dan joked.

“I didn’t mean to! Some asshole tripped me, I’m lucky I didn’t spill food on her.” Tony whined and rubbed his thumbs over my knuckles.

“When did you guys start dating?” Dan inquired.

“One year later, and we dated up until I was twenty two.” Tony frowned momentarily before I squeezed his palms.

“Well it’s good you guys were brought back together, your daughter is absolutely gorgeous. What’s she like?” I smiled.

“Charlotte is amazing, she’s the spitting image of me except for her eyes and smile, which she definitely got from Tony, but she’s the carbon copy of him on the inside basically. She’s shy and quiet, but really open once she’s comfortable, but she has some of my mannerisms too, she’s just exactly like us in every way.” I replied.
