The one that got away

James had just stood there gawping at what had happened right before him. The girl he had a crush on since 7th grade had just kissed his best mate Adam.

James and Adam had been best mates for 5 years and in that time they had never once done something to hurt the other person, but today that had just been thrown out the cafeteria window. Adam turned to see James standing in the doorway, he had been thinking in his head the whole while what he was going to say to James about him and Bethany hooking up and kissing and here was his chance.

James couldn't feel anything but hate for Adam right now and he just looked at Adam, glaring at him with those pearl blue eyes and in that moment of just standing there James realised this was not the place for a 'scene' and just stormed out of the cafeteria.

Adam immediately ran after him, trying to catch up to James but your not gonna catch up with the hedge-hill high school cross country champion and Adam knew it. He had just lost his best friend and all he could think about was what would happen to himself.

James hadn't liked it but he knew who his real friends were now and as for his 'crush' she wouldn't cross his mind at all from now on because he realised what a mistake he had made liking her.
