So far it had been a normal day for me. I had toast for breakfast, I brushed my teeth and put on my school uniform. A typical almost sailor outfit like thing. White shirt, blue skirt, blue neck thingie? Heck I don't even know what that thing is but I still gotta wear the damn thing. How much do I hate it? To put it frankly, alot. A whole freaking lot. I sighed and grabbed my schoolbag, and walked out of the door ignoring my sister calling for me to wait. This happened most mornings. Then came the screaming and crying just over some stupid morning routine.
I was on the pavement on the opposite side of the road to my school, with my earphones plugged in, listening to My chemical romance, Panic! At the disco, fall out boy, 21 pilots... the usual. I stopped and turned to face the 'school'. Personally, i'd call it hell, but i'm not sure about how my parents or teachers would think of that. I looked both ways down the street, no traffic, all clear. I pulled out my earphones and listened too. Nothing. I stepped out onto the road and started walking across towards school. What happened next was a blur. I heard a voice yelling. "LOOK OUT!" I saw something move out of the corner of my eye. I turned just in time to see a van hurtling towards me down the street. I fell back with shock, landing on my butt. Two metres. I had no time to make a noise or move. One metre. I braced myself for Impact, squeezing my eyes shut tightly, my heart pounded in my chest. Still no impact. Maybe I'm dead? I opened my eyes...
... Or maybe some random girl's denim clad butt is before my very eyes. I took the scene in. The girl was panting, her hands spread out around the front of the bonnet of van. The engine went quiet. The girl turned around. I could make out scruffy blonde hair and grey-green eyes from beneath her hood as she looked me up and down. She suddenly turned on her heels and sprinted away down the dark alleyway next to us. I shook my head. This was all so sudden, strangers doing god knows what in front of vans on roads and then running away like mice as soon as you look at them. My body was shaking with adrenaline. Before I knew it there was quite a crowd. Out of all the sudden chatter I managed to pick out "did you see that girl? The one that jumped in front of the van?" And "and held it back no less! with pure body strength? That's just NUTS!" The nurse rushed over but all their babbling didn't make it through my thought bubble. Who was that girl? Where did she come from? Why did she save me?
