Epilogue: At Least Wear Something White

"Are you ready," Jon asked as he played with the ring that made a snug fit on my left ring finger.

I sighed, holding onto his hand tightly as my pulse began to quicken. "Yes."

All my life, I had never imagined that I would be standing where I was today. Well, I thought that I would be once, but that went down in flames. I had always imagined being surrounded by my friends and family, wearing the dress of my dreams, and walking down an isle that would lead me to the altar. That part was going to happen, but not in the way that I had envisioned it. No. I was in the dress that I had bought with Trinity over a year ago, my favorite black leather jacket, the black combat boots that Jon claimed that I found every excuse to wear, and my hair in the bun that I loved so much. Jon was in his black Las Vegas t-shirt, the jeans that he had worn in the ring earlier in the night, and his black boots and leather jacket.

Yes.

Jon and I were about to be married.

Eloped in this case.

Ah. So much had changed in just a few short hours. But I knew that for as long as I lived, I would remember this night in particular. And as the oak doors opened and revealed the altar, I replayed the glorious yet shocking moment over again in my head.

"It sucks," I said as I bit into the cookie that Paige handed me a few seconds ago. "Living in Orlando literally sucks. It's muggy every-fucking-day, the sun's always out and the heat. Dear God. The heat sucks ass."

"Does Jon like it," she asked, biting her nails.

I nodded in annoyance. "Yes. The heat makes him feel good, but then there I am, sweating like a pig. He misses Vegas, though. Tonight's sort of like his homecoming."

It had been exactly one year since the WWE had been in Vegas. People had been rather excited for tonight, only because it was the go-home episode of Raw right before the TLC pay-per-view. But so far tonight, Cesaro and Seth would start their feud, Paige was set to drop the Women's title to Sasha Banks, and then Jon, having turned heel not even a month ago, would kick off his feud with Roman, but on such short notice. I couldn't afford to miss such an exciting event that I had dropped everything back in Tampa and made the long flight with Jon. Truthfully, I wasn't even really supposed to be here. I should have been back in Orlando, getting ready for my debut on NXT, which would be airing live on Wednesday night. But here I was, technically breaking the rules.

Things had quieted down a lot since April. I had more or less gotten my life together, signed the contract, and had been graciously allowed to continue on with being myself. Unfortunately, I had to move from West Newbury to Orlando so that I could be at the performance center as much as I was needed. I still had my house, however. Jon had not been so excited about moving back. Of course, he still kept the apartment in Vegas, but he missed Nevada. And in the time since April, John and Nicole had finally tied the knot. It had been a wonderful and breath-taking ceremony, one that excluded the Total Divas cameras. Sean even met his current girlfriend Elizabeth in the same day.

Trinity, however, had not been so lucky. She gave birth to a vibrant and healthy baby girl almost two months away from the actual due date. Having a premature infant was especially dangerous. Of course, she and the baby were fine, but the birth had been such a shock for Trinity's mom that she had a heart attack inside of the delivery room. The doctors saved her just in the nick of time, but the aftermath was horrible. Now she was cooped up inside of a nursing home, barely able to feed herself or live. It was quite a scary sight. The doctors had given the woman at least until after New Year's to live. The stress and the fright had taken such a toll on Trinity that she almost fell into a severe depression. The only things that had stopped her from doing so was her baby, who was named Angelique, and her husband Jon, who was now a father of three children.
