At what point is it, that we realise we're simply strangers in a strange place
Is it at our moments of departure
When we're forced to leave
Or perhaps it's at our moment of birth
When we're forced here
Whence our atrocious journey begins in this lovely earth
Everyone at a point wonders "why was I born"
"Why do I feel lost, even in my own abode"
"Was I created for a purpose
Or did I evolve through natural selection"
Are we really evolving
Or are we regressing as time progresses
Maybe we were created but for what purpose
The books say it to worship
Wouldn't that be too much just for satisfaction
Created to rule over the earth yet we almost all live at the mercy of just a few
"Survival of the fittest"
"Kill or be killed", engrained in the mind
Forever wandering in search of peace
In search of satisfaction, in search of rest
Or is this world only a preparation for the next
Not knowing when and if ever we're returning home
Or cursed to eternal damnation
Are we ever sober
Do we ever wonder our true essence
Or are we easily driven by our selfishness and quest for satisfaction
"Naked we come and naked shall we return"
So why do we kill and destroy over what we can't posses for long enough
For we're simply strangers that would soon depart this damned earth
