There was the faint, cold, stardy fall of rain on a dark and gloomy day. A girl walks across the street with her head down against the rain. With a flash of lighting, she is gone.

Ring! Ring! "Officer Mark grabs the phone. Hello. Okay. What is her name? When did she disappear? Yesterday? Okay. Come in and tell me more."

As a man in black, rose up to meet her.

She screamed, 'Please don't kill me.'

"I won't........yet," he whispered.

As he left a delivery guy walked in and gave the secretary package.

"Who is this for," She asked.

When did you notice she was missing?" Officer Mark asked.

"This morning," replied her father "she usually stays in the library til closing."

"Why does she go to the library?" Officer Mark questioned.

"She works there," he sighed, "We don't have very much money."

"We will look into it. You may go now." Officer Mark ordered.

"Okay. Call me if you found anything," He replied.

As he left, a delivery guy walked in and gave the secretary a package.

"Who is this for,"She asked

"Officer Mark," he replied, "Goodbye."

He turned around and walked out the door.

"Officer Mark you have a package," The secretary said on the enter come.

Officer Mark got up from his desk and went to the front desk. He grabbed the package. As he walked back to his office he wondered what it was for, as he sat down he grabbed his knife.

"Please stop, Please," She screamed.

He looked up at her his knife dripping blood.

"No," He whispered.

She looked around in pain. Everything looked sharp and you can smell the blood in the air. On the table were knifes of all shapes and sizes. As a wave of pain hit her everything went dark. Officer Mark slowly opened the package.Inside was a wrapped box. On top of the box was a letter. Officer Mark grabbed the letter. It said, "If you want to find the girl go to the library basement. Go by yourself!!!! Now look into the box." Officer Mark grabbed the box. He opened the box, and he walked to his boss.

"We need to go to the library basement," he said.

"Why?"the boss questioned.

Officer Mark showed him the letter and what was in the box. He gasped. There was the only clue on the case and it was directly from the source. It was the girl's finger!

"Get the rest of your squad," The boss ordered.

"Boss, there's one more thing you forgot,"Officer Mark.

"What?" The boss said puzzled.

"Because I have to go alone. It says so in the letter,"he answered.

"Fine, but bring your partner, Matt, he will stay in the car, "the boss commanded.

"Okay. I got to go" he replied.

As he walked away he grabbed his partner, Matt.

"We got a job to do. I have no time to explain. We need to go now," He whispered.

"Okay, said Matt while looking up."

Officer Mark walked out to his car. Matt was right behind him. He opened the door and got in. As he started the car, he turned on his siren. He raced to the library.

"Stay here, Officer Mark said to Matt."

"Okay, "Matt replied.

Officer Mark walked into the library. As he open the door he wonder why would the kidnapper pick the library basement. He slowly walked down the stair to a soundproof door. Whoever kidnapped the girl planned ahead, so he could torture her. He pulled out his gun and noticed that he had sweat running down his back. As he opened the door he smelled blood. When he walked in the girl was on the ground with a knife in her heart. He spoke into his radio"The girl is dead!" Officer Mark sagged against a wall and started to cry. He thought of all the birthdays that she will miss and that he won't see her grow up. He had failed as her uncle. He had promised to her that if anything had happened to her he would do anything too find out who did it. He pushed himself upright thinking that he will find the person that killed his little cousin and bring justice to her death.
