The Difficult Letter

To whom it may concern,

We cannot date. You and I should, but I've spoken to those around me, and their opinions have persuaded me to choose otherwise. I must respect their decisions and values, and they such suggest that I should not court one from a place far from where I reside.

Incidentally as such, I must move on. I would make the suggestion that you would do the same. The best thing to do now is for the both of us to find another to court. After we both reach meeting age, we shall reach out to the other, both of us conversing over a divine drink and eat. One day, however, is not this day.

All of this may be too much, and you have long since realized this letter was written to you, but I ask you to be careful. Remain safe. Hold what you will dear to heart, and never release them. Remember that it is not over. We are not finished.

We never really began.

Our courtship is merely delayed. Being as if we both are not courting at the time of your graduation, we shall pick up where we left off. I would let you know at this point that I have plenty of young maidens to date at this point, as do you in young men. It may hurt me to know that you were able to move on but I have a very good piece of information that may ease your hurt.

Long distance relationships are too hard.

I do not enjoy the thought of you to get attached to me. Neither do I like idea of you falling in love with me. Perish the thought. The idea of someone loving me hurts my body, and I do not enjoy pain. I would rather love someone than be loved, which is a crude idea, though it is how I feel. I apologize for however this makes you feel, but it is the horrible life we live in.

I'm actually sorry for asking you to wait on me. Which is why I would make the request that you don't wait. Find a good guy. Court him, and enjoy him. Don't wait for me. I'll move on. You can too.

Now what this does not mean is that we must end our friendship. We are closer than I have been to a person in a while. The fact of the matter is that I love you. That's what hurts the most.

No matter what this makes me feel, I must release you back to your life. I can not be selfish. You are free to escape to whichever man you wish.

It's up to you.

With infinite apologies,

Luke
