I wake up the next morning with a smile on my face. It's a beautiful Saturday morning, wait it's 1:20 in the afternoon I notice as I check my phone. I have 2 messages from Corbin and 3 from Logan. I read the ones from Logan first.
L: Hey beautiful :) I hope you slept well
L: want to hang out??? My treat :)
L: You should wake up now lol.
I smile and send a quick reply.
A: Sure :) what do you have in Mind?
I open the messages from Corbin and my heart starts beating rapidly.
C: Hey A, I hope you slept better then me
C: We need to talk.
A thousand questions start running through my head. What's the problem? Does he regret it? Did he love it? What are we now?I groan and swing my legs off the side of the bed and my feet hit the cool floor. I grab a pair of shorts and a t shirt before heading to the bathroom. I reach over and turn the hot water on and let it warm up. I brush my teeth and jump into the shower.
I walk downstairs and Levi looks up at me from his plate and smiles with food all over his face.
"I thought you would never wake up." My mom teases me. I sheepishly smile and grab the OJ from the fridge. I sit down beside Levi and he offers me a bite of his spaghetti. I shake my head. My phone vibrates against my waist and I pull it out seeing Corbin's name pop up.C: I'll pick you up in 20 minutes. It can't wait.
A huge lump forms in my throat and I close my eyes. I open to see my mom sending me a concern look. I hesitate then spill out what all has happened and she listens closely.
"I don't know what to expect mom." I sigh. She pats my hand and gives a warm smile.
"Honey, expect the good. Don't stress over the bad. It all seems like a lot to grasp but don't let that keep you from going for what's best for you." I nod my head and head up to my room.In exactly 20 minutes, Corbin pulls into the driveway. I wave goodbye to my mom and walk outside. I get into the passenger side and we sit in silence before he backs out.
The music plays softly as I stare out the window. I look over at Corbin and study his facial to figure out what's going to happen next.
"Enjoying what you see?" He says smirking. I playfully punch his arm and we laugh. It lightens the awkwardness in the air. We arrive back at the park and we stop to get ice cream before sitting down.
I lick my cotton candy heaven in a cone watching kids play. Corbin clears his throat to catch my attention. I look at him and his expression is sincere.
"About last night-" he cuts me off by putting his fingers to my lips before I can finish. I frown and he smiles.
"There's nothing to say about last night but one thing. Amazing. That's what it was." My jaw drops and I quickly recover and hide my blush.
"I can agree with you." I say shyly. He reaches over and grabs my hand, intertwining our fingers. I blush at the gesture. The effect this boy has on me. I look up at him and he leans in, pressing a soft, sweet kiss on my lips. He tastes like chocolate mint from his ice cream.
We spend the rest of the time laughing and enjoying the beautiful day. My phone chimes and I look and see its Logan. I totally forgot about him. I sigh and give him a quick excuse before giving Corbin my attention again.
We head back as it gets darker. I lean over and give him a quick kiss before jumping out of his truck. I hurry inside and stare out the window watching him leave. Creepy, I know.
I tell mom the whole story as she plays with my hair with my head in her lap. I dose off to her telling me the story of how her and my dad met.
As she walked in to the bowling alley, my mom spotted a group of boys in the corner being loud and obnoxious. She walks over to her friend Kat and they start playing there own little game.
My dad walks over and wraps his arm around Kats shoulder, trying to make my mom jealous. Little did he know that she wasn't the jealous type.
Four months later he finally wins my mom over, after relentlessly pursuing her. Then 3 years later, here I am....
I smile in my sleep as I replay the memories with my dad.
