Leo's P.O.V
The seven of the quest, along with Nico and Thalia where on the Argo 2 heading home after the second giant war. Miraculously all of them survived. Percy and Annabeth had escaped Tartarus relatively unscathed and had been just on time to join everyone else and kick some giant ass. Percy and Jason had taken Gaea down with the help of Poseidon and Zeus, or Neptune and Jupiter. They where all gathered in the TV room watching movies, and just relaxing. They where watching the movie Finding Nemo, at Percy's request, when suddenly the screen froze.
"NO" Percy screeched, "this is the best part."
"Yeah, it is" Piper agreed. "Get to fixing Repair Boy."
Leo growled "please don't call me that" he spoke quietly.
"What do you mean Repair Boy? Why don't you want me to call you Repair Boy" Piper said mockingly.
"I SAID DONT CALL ME THAT." Leo exploded.
Piper stared at him with a shocked face, not knowing what to say, she had only been joking around.
"Leo" Jason yelled "what's your problem?"
Leo just turned and glared at him before running out of the room. He ran all the way down to his room, slamming the door behind him. He collapsed onto his bed with tears flowing down his face, he was holding his head in an attempt to stunt the flow of memories coming back to him. He saw flashes of his mother, and the old workshop before it burned down. His head felt like someone was taking a hammer to it, he vaguely wondered if this is how Percy and Jason felt when they where getting their memories back. He was hit by another wave of pain and he fell back onto his floor. His eyesight darkened until it became completely black, and he passed out.
Leo suddenly found himself back in a place that was all too familiar. He heard the clanging of metal bashing together, he felt the heat from the furnace, and he smelt the motor oil and grease. All of these things mixed together, brought a new wave of pain. This pain was different though, his heart ached at the reminder of his mother. He turned and quickly caught his breath. Standing 5 feet away from him, seemingly unaware of his presence, was his mother. She looked exactly how he remembered her. She was wearing overalls over a long white shirt, with goggles hanging loosely around her neck. Her face was covered in soot, but she still had a large smile on her face as she gazed proudly down at the boy by her feet. Leo looked closer at the boy and realized that it was him. He looked around 6 years old. He was hammering away at small piece of metal. It looked like it was meant to fit in a larger piece, like an engine. Little Leo was in his own world trying to shape the piece that was bent incorrectly. He stopped suddenly and looked up at his mother expectantly.
She smiled wider "Amazing job, mijo, you really are my little repair boy aren't you?"
Little Leo broke out into a toothy grin and hugged his mothers leg. He loved working with his mother more than anything else. Esperanza reached down and tousled his hair. She snatched him up in her arms and twirled around. Leo giggled loudly.
"Stop" he managed to choke out between laughs.
Esperanza set him down by the fire and sat down next to him. Leo moved and sat on her lap.
"You take after your father, mijo." She whispered to Leo.
She started to rock him back and forth until soon little Leo was asleep in her arms.
"You are my little repair boy."
Leo, who was still standing on the side watching everything take place, smiled sadly, he missed his mother more than he could ever describe. He felt a large hand appear on his shoulder and he turned to see Hephaestus looking at the scene with watery eyes.
He turned to Leo "don't just remember the bad, son. Remember the good times like this. It will help you to deal with the pain."
He disappeared and the next thing Leo knew, he was lying on the floor of his room in the Argo 2. He could hear someone banging on the door, and right when he was about to call out, the door flew off its hinges revealing a worried looking Jason and Piper. They ran forward and knelt by leo.
"What happened?" Piper asked.
"I think I passed out." Leo said while trying to sit up.
Piper and Jason locked eyes before turning to Leo.
"We're both really sorry, Leo" Jason apologized, "we didn't know that the name bothered you so much."
Piper nodded her head in agreement.
"It's ok guys, the name just reminded of my mom, which brought up some.... Unwanted feelings. But I'm good with it now, as long as you're ok with being sparky and beauty queen."
They both smiled and nodded. Jason helped Leo up and they all went to finish Finding Nemo.
