Chapter 10

Lilac's P.O.V

I woke up, hearing Jett walking back and forth. "Is something wrong?" I asked. "It's nothing really, but what if we come across....Mitch?" Jett asked me. "What about him?" I asked. "Well, remember what he said in his interview? And how you kissed Jason? Don't you think that will make him, you know, jealous?" Jett said looking at me. "I haven't really that about it." I admitted. "Well, we have to be a lot more careful then." Jett suggusted. "True." I answered. "Well, let's look around, we might find some abondoned supplies." Jett suggusted. "Ok." I said smiling slightly.

We got out of the cave catiously, bringing our stuff with us, since we didn't know who could trespass. I looked around and saw a backpack in the middle of no where. "Hey, we found something." Jett said walking towards it. "WAIT." I shouted holding him back. "What?" He asked looking over is shoulder. "It might be a trap, that's one thing I learned in the Academy." I said raising an eyebrow at him. "Oh, I uh, I forgot." He said looking at me in a I-should-have-payed-attention-in-class-that-one-time-I-was-playing-with-my-hair expression. I rolled my eyes and got ahold of a small stick. I threw it at the direction the backpack was, and when the stick touched the backpack, something below it opened, and there was what looked like lava below. "Thank god we are allies." Jett said giving me a hint of his appreciation. We turned around in a different direction, and noticed that we were being filmed, as if the capital people knew there was a trap where we were, and that we were going to fall into it. Hmph, I'm really happy I actually payed attention that one time.

Mitch's P.O.V

I was looking at the screen intently, so, Lilac and Jett actually didn't fall into a trap, it had better be that way. "Well, that's the last of them." I heard Maria say. "What are you talking about?" Leah asked her raising an eyebrow. "I'm talking about these berries I'm collecting, they look delicous." Maria said about to put them in her mouth. "WAIT." I shouted and get the berries out of her hand. Suddenly Jerome gave me a we-are-being-filmed look. "What the HELL Mitch?!" Maria said glaring at me. "If you were paying attention, those are actually POISONOUS berries." I said glaring back. "Oh." Maria said looking down. "Well, we'd better keep moving." Troy said leading the way.

We began walking, but then Maria stopped me and said, "Thanks Mitch, for uh, saving me." She said looking at me. "Oh it's fine." I said looking a different dirrection. Then, I felt two arms behind my neck, and I felt someone kiss me. I looked down and noticed Maria doing it. I felt awkward for a moment, and she stopped. I looked at the screen, and noticed we were being filmed the whole time. Damnit! What is Lilac going to think? "Guys, we're going to split up, Leah, Maria, and I are going one way, while you and Jerome go another way, and we'll meet here at sunset." Troy said, bringing Leah and Maria one way. Maria smirked at me, then she payed attention to what Troy was saying.

Lilac's P.O.V

I looked at the screen and it blacked out, I felt a bit jealous, but not as much as Mitch probably was. "Jealous?" Jett asked me, smirking. "No, not really, let's just hope she gets his mind off of me." I said. "You're right." Jett said, we continued walking, until I heard some rustling in the bushes. "Who's there?" I asked taking my bow out. Suddenly, a bunny lunged at me, but I shot it in the skull before it even bit me. "Oh my." Jett said looking at the dead bunny. "I think we are close to where the Career Pack is, we'd better be a lot more careful." I said. Jett nodded, which meant he agreed.

We kept walking, until I saw a baby squirrel, (<--Aww ^.^) and Jett took out his small knife.(<--That's gonna give me nightmares for days xD) "Wait!" I exclaimed. "What? We need food!" Jett exclaimed. I unzipped one of our backpacks, and inside there were many containers. "Ok, so maybe we have food, but, we might run out." Jett said defensively. "Hmph." I said walking past him. I got a small chestnut from out of a container, and headed toward the small squirrel slowly, holding the small chestnut in front of me. The baby squirrel saw me, and I stopped. The squirrel went toward the chestnut hesitantly, and ate it. I just stood there, hoping I got it's confidence. When I stood up slowly, I noticed the squirrel didn't run away. "Good." I said walking over with Jett, who was just gaping at me.

"So, I see you are a tamer." Jett said smirking. "I guess I am." I responded. "Man, it's getting hot here." Jett said wiping some sweat off his forehead. "Yeah." I said pulling the leggings of my jeans up, to make it look like a short. I got my jacket off and put it in a backpack. "Where should we put our swords? I'm tired of holding them." Jett complained. "That's what she said." I said raising an eyebrow at him. (<--I just had to add that in xD) "Hmph." Jett said in a girlish tone. "Hey, I didn't know we had belts on." I said looking at my waist. "Wait, I have an idea." Jett said getting a sword, and putting it in between his back and the belt. "Praise the genius." I said jokingly, doing the same thing Jett did.

Suddenly, I heard someone shout out, "Yo Lilac! To the left to the left!" (<--XD) I realized it was Jerome. "Hi." I said smiling. I felt him hug me. "Whoa, be careful, I have a sword on my back." I said as he let go quickly. My smile turned into a frown, when I saw Mitch, leaning on a tree, and polishing his sword. "Well, well, well, who do we have here." Mitch said putting his sword down. I noticed Jett, getting slightly in front of me. "I could say the same about you." I said glaring at him. "Ha ha ha." Mitch said, probably imagining himself stabbing me. "Seriously? Do you guys have to be at war?" Jerome asked raising an eyebrow at Mitch. "You better believe it buddy." Mitch said walking towards me. "You don't have the GUTS to touch me." I said trying to annoy him. "Oh you thought WRONG." Mitch said holding me by my shoulders, when I thought he was going to kiss me, he instead shook me. "Why Lilac? WHY would you play around with my feelings? Do you have ANY idea how fucking MAD I WAS!" Mitch said shaking me harder. I began to get dizzy, so I pushed him away from me. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!" I shouted. "I'm talking about what happened with YOU and JASON! You two are from different DISTRICTS for christ's sake!" Mitch said spitting to his side. I was going to retort, until I heard a voice say,"GET HER!" It was Troy.....
