Part 1
The suns glare of blinding sunlight shines directly into my eyes as I run across the hot sand, covered in lonely sea shells and broken off pieces of driftwood, promising the discovery of a sunken ship or buried treasure lying beneath the grainy sand. Panting as I tried desperately to keep up with the dog (Toby), I changed the song that was blaring out from my plastic ear phones on my iPod, which was strapped to my arm with a durable fabric, Velcro material. My green sneakers somehow seemed to match the turquoise coloured Hair scrunchie that clung to the bun that was neatly tied back atop of my head. Toby stumbled, the shifting soft sand slowing him down. I took a breath and powered my muscles in my legs to move faster. I steamed ahead, he was losing ground and I was soon diving across the sand as I tackled him down. He obviously hadn't expected it as he cried out in surprise of the attack. His little Jack Russell body flipping over, trying to defend himself for the next hand that would swipe at his loosely put on red collar. Laughing as I rubbed the grains off of my sweat beaded face, I reached out to stroke his sand covered fur. As if he knew what I was going to do, he turned abruptly away from me (in a playful way) to get to the salty ocean, that flowed and surged with the tide. He darted across the sand like a snake trying to get to his fury meal. I smirked as I gracefully sat up from my position on the sand, I spotted something through the corner of my eye. It was foreign and unknown to me. I leaned in for a better look at whatever was lurking in the shallow depths of the glistening aqua water. It was hard to see as the glare off of the water was much to strong for me to see. I squinted my eyes until I could make out some sort of log. No, it couldn't be... Maybe it was some sort of dolphin that had washed ashore. I was just about to cry out for help when I noticed that it had suddenly disappeared. Whatever it was, it was fast. I stood up as an avalanche of sand grains tumbled down off from my lap, and back to it's place amongst the rest of the sandy beach. Picking my feet up as I jogged towards the waters edge, I moved my gaze to focus on Toby. Who was not bothered what-so-ever as he approached the darkened patch of water that was zipping effortlessly across the sandy sea bed. Shallow as it was, it somehow moved with grace and speed. I watched in interest and curiosity as it swam further, and further away from my prying eyes. Yet I never really felt worried, or even remotely scared as it turned it's position and darted out and away to the right of where I was standing. Whatever it was it was not only fast, but full of fear and fright, as it seemed to be trying to get as much distance between it's self an me, but still close enough to be seen...or too see me... this thought scared me slightly. I took a step back, then another, and another, until I was stumbling over broken bits of driftwood and my own feet most of the time to get away. It must of seen me, I turned around to run faster when I seen that it had slowed and was rising up towards the surface. The desire to find out what it really was replaced with terror and un-natural fear. So I ran before I could ever find out what it really is. I couldn't figure out what urged me to run but I stopped suddenly as all the fear that had consumed me entirely was pushed back down inside of me as I realized that if I run now, I may not ever find out what that thing that lurks in the shadows, truly is. For about 30 seconds, I focused on breathing. In...out...in...out, I thought. Slowly & cautiously, I pivoted on the spot, stumbling as I did so. With my eyes tight shut, I turned so I was fully exposed too whatever lay ahead of me. Abruptly opening my eyes, there was nothing. Nothing left behind in the water. All I could do was blink in surprise and relief as my eyes searched the water for any trace of movement. Suddenly I noticed something... Toby was gone. Gasping in shock, I ran across the sand until I reached the spot where Toby was standing previously. Nothing was there other than his paw prints, scattered across the ground from when he played. Then the trail of canine sized prints stopped suddenly as they neared the water. I broke down onto my knees in shock as realised what had happened. There were pools of blood, seeping into the sand and dribbling back into the water. Quickly, I sat up and backed away, on my hands and knees, from the seeping pools of blood that had spilled onto the sand ahead of me. Without taking my eyes off of the water, I got up, ready too run. "One, Two, THREE!" I shouted too myself as I spun around and 'gapped it'. I had to get away from whatever it was that had murdered my beloved pet. But again, something stopped me from running away in terror. Whatever it was, it was powerful. Maybe it was the smell of brittle and rotting fish that urged me to get justice against the evil and malicious thing that had killed my friend. Either way, I couldn't seem to stop my legs from moving as I (in my terror) went running back towards the sea. I screamed as I seen what arose from the water. It was a girl, about my age. She had unbelievably long, dark hair that floated around her bare (and almost lifeless looking) body. She had her arm out stretched as if she were going to hold my hand. Her face was shaped like an upside down teardrop but slightly pink. Her eyes, they were indescribable. They seemed to reflect all of the colours around her. An Aqua, deep sea green, hazel type of colour. She had a sparkling silver tail that seemed almost too long too match her upper body. She looked as if she were singing, trying too sooth me as my feet slowly moved themselves to a walking pace. Pure terror and fear pulsed all throughout my body as her soft, kind expression, changed into one of Anger and Hunger. By now I knew my fate. "See you soon Toby..." I whispered too myself. Once I was within her reach, she exposed some claw like fingernails from her finger tips, and sunk them into the soft squishy flesh of my arm. I screamed out into the daylight and she roared some sort of battle cry while ripping off my flesh. I looked down too see my own blood, seeping and flowing out of the newly inflicted wound. She didn't hesitate too get at my face. Clawing at my eyes and ripping the flesh off of my bones, she dragged me under the water to finish me off. It felt as if my whole soul was being torn away along with my bloody and exposed, squishy flesh. With one last scream under the water, she bit into my chest and tore at my skin, ripping apart my rib-cage just before she proceeded to tear and pull my heart and internal organs...
Part 2
Watching...Waiting.... I basked in the warm shallow waters, close to the shore line. "She will be here soon... just have patience..." I chattered to myself. Excitement for the hunt pulsed through my stone cold veins. "That's it... She's here..." I said as I poked my head above the water, to get a closer look. She seemed to be chasing the dog. Jealousy pulsed through me and I felt my lips curl back too a snarl. "No!! It will be mine!" I cried out into the sand. Although she didn't notice. My majestic silver tail flashed with my rage as I fumed over a potential loss in a meal. This however caught her attention and she stopped her attack and turned her gaze towards me. "Bad move..." I smiled seductively as I ducked under the water. Through the aqua, glistening water I could see her drop her prey and let it runaway as she stood up, and walked towards me. Welcoming the chase, I darted left, right, forward and then circled my way back to her. Watching me the whole time, I saw the look of curiosity and interest as she watched me move effortless through the water. She obviously didn't realise the danger and the sent of death that hung in the air above me as she seemed to think I was some sort of helpless animal. I smirked, that is exactly what I want her to think. Suddenly she turned and ran, up across the sand and away from me. I snarled in anger at the loss of a meal. I was just about to find something else to eat when I realised that she had left her prey to frolic on the shore line. My eyes flared in glee and hunger as I slowly approached the easy meal. Dragging my body by my arms across the sandy bottom of the shallow water, I push myself up through the waters waves to coax the strange animal to do the rest of the work, and approach. Using the "Sirens Song", I outstretched my arms and relaxed my finely tuned muscles and my facial expression, and began to sing softly. It raised its head and turned to face me. It didn't look very interested, so I sang stronger. Its eyes lit up in fascination as it strutted confidently into my trap. With a face like the devils, I ensnared my prey. Ripping the delicious flesh off of its body. It didn't make any sound as I devoured its small body. Blood splashed onto the sand on the shore as I finished the last morsel of meat. My shark like teeth sinking Into the bones that hadn't already been crunched and grounded by my strong, tough skinned hands. Quickly, I noticed it's red necklace floating in the blood enriched waters. Smiling a sinister smile, I picked it up and threw it into the bloody pools on the sand. Knowing fully well what will happen when she gets close enough to see the mess I had made. Sinking back under the water I swam away so she couldn't see me. Looking up, I seen her approach the bloodied scene with a look of terror and deep, satisfying sadness. I couldn't do anything but too stop myself from cackling with laughter. She Knelt on the ground when she realised what had happened to her beloved friend. Before she could get up I, again, arose up from the murky depths and up above into the air enriched world. When I breathed it in it made me feel almost hollow, and empty. I quickly composed myself and started too sing. She looked up and an expression of fear and confusion fell upon her, she slowly stood up and backed away from me. "She is strong," I thought too myself "But not strong enough to resist me..." Quickly, she bolted away and up the beach again. I sang stronger until I managed too gain control over her. With my arm stretched out for her, I changed my expression from kind & understanding, to a snarl of anger, and the longing hunger I so desperately wanted to full. Once she was close enough, I launched my attack on her. Fully giving in too my instincts, telling me to kill. I clawed & tore at her flesh and it easily was sliced and ripped off of her body. She screamed out in pain as I crushed and tore her ribcage to open outwards. Tearing and clawing until I felt her pathetic & bloody body go limp. The taste of her flesh was sweeter than the other one's. It was tenderer. While the other's was bland and flavourless. She was obviously young. I smirked as I wiped the blood off of my deceiving face. "I hope she suffered..." I smiled despicably as I swam away from the bloodied scene. "Someone else's problem"
