Silence of Death

Dreaming lost, beneath the waters

Drowning in a sea of pain.

Thrown down deep by evil plotters

Weighed down by an invisible chain.

Silent sickness smothers with fear,

Death follows on covert wings.

Sufferers move there and here,

Seeming normal but for hidden strings.

Hushed words murmur before her back,

No-one understands her despair.

She knows Death follows to attack,

She knows there is no fate nor prayer.

Silence follows, silence mocks,

The hidden suffering marked by a failing clock.
