There I stand, afraid what's going to happen next. I haven't seen or spoken to my grandparents in over four years. How were they going to react when they see me?
Standing at the sidewalk, I clutch my backpack and I look back at the foster home. That's where I stayed for the past couple of days before they contacted my grandparents. I mostly stayed to myself the whole time. The children and teenagers in there look, well, sad. Seeing them live without family and seeing them suffer, hurts. I should be grateful.
I see a nice Ford Mustang pull up to the curb, an old man, who I assume is my grandfather, steps out out the car and walks over towards me.
