My head felt like it had been crushed by a scrap yard machine and my body seemed like it had gone ten rounds with Mike Tyson as my eyes flickered open and my subliminal hell turned into reality,
"Where am I?" I muttered.
Looking around my gloomy surroundings, I attempted to stand up but was quickly sent hurtling back down by the familiar pain, I had experienced earlier, in my mind ripping tortured state.
A burning sensation tore down my body as I investigated the cause of my agony with my soiled hand.
My motions were heavy but my will was strong and I knew I needed to gain enough energy to find an escape route and quick.
My hand brushed against my neck and that's when I realised it wasn't just a dream earlier,
"It was real!" I cried as my fingers became stained with the sticky substance.
The limited light hid the true nature of what had dirtied my palm, but the pain confirmed it, as the exposed wound smarted on my touch,
"Stay still and drink this" a familiar voice instructed from the shadows.
My vision was still trying to adapt to the shadowy burrow. I rubbed my eyes, willing my sight to return quicker but it was no use as it just made them more blurry,
"Who's there?" I gasped.
Footsteps rang around me,
"Don't worry for now. Just drink this. It will make you feel better" he continued,
"I'm not drinking that" I groaned in agony.
The humid space started to drain my energy as I felt around for a weapon or something to aid my escape.
I felt beneath me to see what I was lying on,
"Soil?" I questioned in confusion.
The soft mound crumbled, leaving to tumble to the ground and into the shadowy corner, at the feet of my hidden intruder,
"If you had drank the drink you would have had the strength to stand up by yourself" he remarked sarcastically and picked me up from the cold ground.
He carried me out of the dank room and down an underground corridor, with his shuffling companion following closely behind.
My eyes struggled to fix on any memorable features of the dark passageway until my kidnapper kicked something large and hard in front, revealing a blinding red light that made me squirm away, in apprehension of what other agonising attacks I would have to endure,
"Go in front and make space for us" he ordered his straggling minion as loud noises of chatter and screaming filled the forefront,
"Where are you taking me?" I murmured,
"Somewhere where we can find out more about you" he replied coolly,
"There's nothing more to know about me. I'm an average teenager, who has just moved to this town" I explained.
His dubious glare sent shivers down my spine. He tightened his grip and brushed the hair from my ear.
I quivered in intrigue as his lips grazed against my cheek and he gently moved my face up to his,
"You are far from average Lucia! I just want to know how far away from average you are" he concluded.
He brushed his nose against my neck and inhaled deeply. A menacing smirk appeared on his face as his eyes widen and shimmered with flecks of crimson, displaying his dangerous yearning.
I felt like a piece of steak that he wanted to rip apart and devour but I knew as long as he felt like I was of use in some way, I might live to see another day. However, escaping this weird underground place was going to be a different story!
