It was a normal day in Konoha, everyone's favorite hidden village. Especially for me, a girl who was bored out of my wits. Ember had left on a mission with a few rejected genin, one being Sakura. If this world has a god, which I assume is Jashin, he must want to push her buttons. To go on a mission without her best friend and then learn she is teaming with the slut of the academy? I kind of pity her for that, and just before the chunin exams too!
I walked around town for a while before arriving to the library.
'Might as well better my ninja knowledge for the exam' I thought as I pulled out a few scrolls from the middle section. Yes, more confusing talk about chakra and how to use it. Just what I wanted. To make it even better, the lady at the desk had a shit ton of fish, just all kinds of fish. Cooked fish, raw fish, gutted fish, and maybe some octopus. Ew. I continued to read some more scrolls until I just gave up. Too boring, basically the same thing, except more advanced ways of spelling it out. I put the scrolls away and grabbed a few scrolls on water techniques. I am gonna try to bloodbend some people! Maybe not until a few years from now though. Oh well. After reading the first technique I was bored once again. I already read this one~! I put that scroll back before just sitting in my chair for a bit.
'Is it too late to ask the Hokage for some weak missions? We do need to move away because of Duckass' I thought. I looked around and my eyes grew wide. Shikamaru. Was. Wearing. CASUAL CLOTHES! Shit, does he look good. Good thing he didn't go with Ember. Still pity the fact she is without me and got replaced by Sakura, but this is good. It seems Shikamaru noticed me as well and made his way over.
"What are you doing here?" He asked as he sat across from me.
"Ember is out on a mission with Sakura and I have nothing better to do" I replied. Shikamaru nodded and looked me in the eyes.
"Are you hungry?" He asked.
"A little, but when am I not?" I joked.
"Wanna go get something to eat with me?" Shikamaru asked.
"I thought you didn't want to go on a date until you were a chunin" I taunted. He blushed and looked away for a bit. When he finally brought his glance back to me, he smirked.
"It isn't a date. We are still friends and I go out to eat with Choji all the time" Shikamaru said. Oh, he is good.
"Ok then, where to smart guy?" I asked.
"How about we go to the convenience store, pick up some food and then go cloud watching?" Shikamaru asked. Oh dammit! He is too good! Simple food, not too far, not too lazy, and just like him.
"Ok, but you are totally paying" I warned him as I got up.
"No problem, miss troublesome" Shikamaru replied as he lazily followed. Food+me+Shikamaru+watching clouds=good-date-that-isn't-technically-a-date. Casual, but romantic. I could fight his mouth with my own at this rate...Wait, does this mean I can use my lame pick up lines on him!? Yes, he shall be tortured. When we had arrived at the store, he bought me some onigiri that was pork marinated in garlic and a bit of honey and some honey milk tea. He knows me so well. Damn, how do you kiss someone when technically you aren't on a date? Hm...cheek? No...cheesy kiss the hand? No....I know!
"Could I use some lame pick up lines on you?" I asked as we left the store. He looked at me oddly, but agreed.
"This will include puns, so you have been warned" I laughed. He looked to the side and let out a happy sigh.
"Good thing I brought my library card because I am checking you out" I said while trying to hold a straight face, keyword tried. He let out a light laugh so I knew it had worked. Yes, I will slytherin to your heart, just as you have mine.
"I'm bad at geography, but I can tell you that you live in my heart" I continued.
"Go on?" He taunted.
"I'm bad at History, but I can remember when I first saw you" Which was as my first tv character crush.
"I'm bad at chemistry, but I can tell what's the reaction when you smile" You make my heart race beyond anything that has happened before.
"If everything around me is just my imagination, you are the best thing I've come up with" I added.
"Nah, I think Ember is pretty high up there" Shikamaru interrupted.
"Well, she is one of the best things so far" I admitted.
"Also, those pick up lines you said were lame? Yeah, don't use them on anyone else because they are actually good" Shikamaru said as he ruffled my hair.
"Well, I have one more that may be considered good" I teased as we arrived to the spot.
"Please do tell me" Shikamaru asked.
"They say the tongue is the strongest muscle in our body. Wanna fight?" I asked with a grin.
