I stand in place as I see my mother in bed with a bunch of I.V. Connected to her arms.
"Oh don't cry Ricky I'm alright. I'll be unhooked from these machines once I'm able to leave" she says with a sloth tone in her voice.
"I'm sorry mom, I can't help it. Ever since grandma died due to cancer when I was five I get really emotional at the sight of people connected to machines." I tell her as tears still run down my cheeks.
"I know it's thought but I'm ok. They just found something but it shouldn't be something serious they said. I'll be out in a few hours maybe." She says with a smile on her face while reaching out her hand.
I stand next to her and hold her hand. After around ten minutes another doctor walks in with a clipboard and a couple pieces of paper on it. He starts to talk with the Doctor that's already in the room with us. They have a bridge conversation but I couldn't understand it since it was very low.
"And who is this?" Asks the doctor that just walked in.
"He's the son of the patient" says the doctor who I had a conversation with.
"Well I have something to tell the patient and only her. So I'm going to need him to step out." Says the doctor.
"Why do I have to step out? I'm old enough to handle news" I say with a angry tone in my voice.
"Well alright if you say so" he says as he starts to through flip through the papers."Oh here it is. Well Ms.Moon the reason why we had you stay here for the night is to make sure that the results that we had were correct and we needed more time to verify that. So the results that we got aren't that well, seems here as if there's a high chance that you might have leukemia."
"What!?" I say out loud "No this can't be real"
"Well so far it's a 53% chance that she does. We still have more test to make sure that there's no error." Says the doctor as he looks at the papers.
I just stand next to my mother in shock at the words that I hear.
My mom has cancer and I know I'm going to loose her.
