Last night • Cody Christian

Chapter 6

I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around my waist as i wake up the next morning. "What time is it?" Cody mumbles from under the covers. I reach for my phone and try my best to see the time.

"7:45." I say bluntly while getting back to sleep. "Wait, what?" He quickly jumps out of bed and looks at me. "Shit. Coach is gonna kill me, I really need to go. See you at school babe." He winks playfully and proceeds to finding his shoes.

"Why Is he gonna kill you? I thought you had your practice after school?"

"He said we've been lacking accuracy with kicking the ball to each other so his made us wake up earlier and go to practice earlier too." He groans while rubbing his forehead.

"Umm, okay see you then. I guess." I quietly mumble while going back under the covers.

Cody's pov.

I burst out into the field with the worst headache and the messiest I've probably been all semester. "Christian, glad you finally finished your very important business to be here." Mr. Reynolds gave out.

"Sorry coach I was up writing song and I just kinda over slept." I quickly explain. "A song? So when's your ballet rehearsal?" Everyone laughed while I started putting on my gear on. "6 laps around the field Christian, and if this happens again it's detention for you."

After i ran 6 laps around the field coach blow on his whistle. We all stood in front of him listening with what we had to do.

"Why were you writing a song?" I heard someone ask. "It's for this class we have to write a song with someone and perform it." I sighed. As i start passing the ball to someone.

"Who is your partner?"

"Hailee." I mumbled, kicking the ball hard and the person that had to get the ball couldn't stop it so he ran all across the field just to get the ball.

"Hailee? The hot girl you always fight with?" He asked, i nodded.

"Dude, you're so lucky she is so hot." Please don't get horny in front of me.

"She's stupid, she thinks she is so amazing and that she can do everything. It's annoying." I said.

Why did i say that? She isn't stupud at all, she is amazing. Christian don't fall for her. Don't fall for her.

Hailee's pov.

"She's stupid, she thinks she is so amazing and that she can do everything. It's so annoying." Cody's voice echoes through and out of the field.

I stood there not moving a muscle hoping someone doesn't notice me. "Um, Cody. She's right there." One of the players point at my direction. My cheeks start getting hot with either anger or embarrassment, maybe both. I quickly turn as fast as I can trying to keep my balance.

"Wait! Hailee, Hailee! I didn't mean it." Cody yanks one of my arms which I pulled quickly away. "You left this at my house." I throw the copy on his chest and quickly left.

"Looks like little Cody here has a crush on Hailee." Another one of the players smirks. Cody rolls his eyes.

The field stood silent.
