*Cassandra POV*
I was sat on the stage, glancing round at all the incredible projects. It felt just like when I used to compete. I didn't even notice Ezekiel walking towards me.
"Oi!" The word just a rolled off his tongue in that amazing Australian accent. "Hey." I replied. I felt my face light up as he took the last few steps towards me. "Good job with the pentagram." He said.
"It was easy. Maybe too easy." My elation had slightly decreased by that point. "Well that was science project of the day, and you saved everybody's lives, so, I think that deserves," He pulled his hands from behind his back and presented me with the glass first place trophy. He stood there smirking. I couldn't stop myself laughing, Ezekiel always knows how to cheer me up. "Wow," I say, still beaming, "First place in?"
"In the category of mathemagics."
The proud smile on his face when he said that was enough to make my smile widen until my cheeks ached. "Mathemagics. I like it." I really liked it. Then I realised. "You stole this didn't you?" He shrugged. "Yeah. I-I stole it," He sounded kind of nervous. "But you won it, without a doubt, so focus on that." The way he looked at me was totally different to how any guy had before. His brown eyes sparkled when he talked about me, making me go all warm and fuzzy inside.
He outstretched his hand, the smile on his face expanding as he did so. I leaned forward and grabbed his hand. (AN: episode content stops here) As I jumped off the stage my feet caught on each other and I tumbled into Ezekiel.
Taking a step back as I collided with his chest, he stopped us both crashing to the floor. I became increasingly aware of how little space there was between us. I had imagined moments not too dissimilar to this, but under completely different circumstances. Ezekiel straightened, pulling me up with him, and we stood there for what felt like hours, simply staring into each others eyes.
That was when Ezekiel bent his head towards mine, resting the tip of his nose against mine. He took a deep breath, and the warm air tickled my face. "I've been wanting to do this since the day I met you." He murmured as he slowly pressed his lips to my lips. I didn't hesitate before kissing him back. The truth was, I'd wanted that since the day we met as well.
His hands, which were laid gently on my waist, pulled me closer to him, until there was almost no space between us. I moved my hands from where they were on his chest and knotted my fingers in his thick, dark hair, deepening the kiss.
I was beginning to feel light headed. I'd never been kissed like that before. It was slow. Deliberate. As if he wanted to make sure this moment lasted as long as possible. It wasn't rushed or sloppy. He was making sure I felt the same as he did. He was making sure I wanted this.
I pressed my body right against his, trying to close the gap between us that could only have been millimetres wide, in an attempt to make him see that I wanted this just as much; if not more than he did.
Gently, his lips parted and closed over and over again, allowing me to take short breaths between kisses. Ezekiel began to softly trail his lips away from my mouth. He lightly grazed my earlobe, before moving on to the patch of flesh behind it.
My head instinctively rolled back, to allow him better access to the pale skin of my neck. One of his hands lifted from my waist to cup my cheek, holding my entire head in place. In that moment I was totally in Ezekiel's control.
I briefly opened my eyes, partially because I wanted to make sure this experience was purely ours; something we would remember every time we looked at each other, and smile, making everyone curious as to why we were so happy all of a sudden. The other reason was that I needed to know it was real - I needed to know that I wasn't imagining it. Once I was totally satisfied that we were alone, I allowed myself to get lost in the pleasure of that feeling.
Using his hair like a steering wheel, I manoeuvred his lips back on to mine. I softly caressed his lips before pulling away and softly resting my nose against his. Flirtatiously, I stared up at him through my dark lashes.
"Ahem!" I heard a deep cough. Ezekiel and I turn our heads in unison. "Looks like you two have been having fun." Stone was stood there, looking like it took all his willpower not to laugh. "You worked out how to shut Jones up!" Jacob let out a low chuckle. I opened my mouth to say something, but Ezekiel beat me to it. "Hey! I don't talk that much." He exploded, sounding offended. "Okay, whatever you say. Come on you two, we need to get back to the annex." Stone instructed. "Can't wait to see Baird's face when I tell her about this!" He giggled, somehow managing to still sound manly.
I noticed Ezekiel and I were still tangled together. I planted one last kiss on Ezekiel's lips; not caring if Stone saw. I removed my fingers from his hair and stepped back, but I grasped his hand, interlocking our fingers. I wanted him to know that it wasn't just a heat of the moment thing, that I actually felt something.
I pulled him along behind Stone as we headed towards the nearest door, to transport us back to the annex. "That was absolutely amazing." Ezekiel whispered in my ear. "We should definitely do that again some time." It sounded like he really wanted to make this a regular thing. I couldn't agree more.
